Surely if Newcastle can afford Gallagher and he wishes to leave Chelski then they would go for him over Eze ? As already mentioned he is the all round midfielder that most teams in the PL would want. Suspect he will return to Chelski and the other 2, Wilf and Eze will be here next season. Different players though aren’t they. Newcastle apparently (probably bolloc*s)

The signs from Chelsea are that they are planning on integrating Gallagher into their squad and dropping their interest in Declan Rice. Could just be a ploy of course. Newcastle could of course afford to buy Gallagher, Eze and Wilf ! But in Wilf's case, if he still wants Champions League football, I don't think Newcastle will provide that in the next couple of years. That doesn't leave him with too many options, probably only Arsenal IF they finish in the top 4. As for Eze, the problem he faces is that PV hasn't seen him play to the standard he displayed ( at times ) last season. And I'm not sure that he can get back to that level in what's left of this season. So far PV hasn't rushed him back, which I think is the right approach. If Wilf is realistic he should know that horse has bolted. No one has come seriously in for his services, even when he was in top form. My Euro team is Roma (long story) and I look at them, currently 7th in Serie A, Mourinho manager, Tammy Abraham up front, looking unlikely for a CL spot. Maybe a stint in Turkish football will suit Wilf.

There are so many possibilities, literally any or none of them could happen. However, here are a few facts that no one can dispute. 1. Eddie Howe is just starting to shine as a potential leading manager. He has the biggest financial purse of any club in europe right now, legally. So expect Newcastle to make some big time buys this summer and continue on their upward trend.
I considered Howe a light weight Championship level manager and it is looking like, at least in the initial stages, that I was totally wrong about that. So far so good for the Geordies and good on them for it. They deserve a bit of good luck now for their long suffering fans although hopefully not at our expense. For your last point. I know Parish gets a lot of stick by being the face of management at the club but I think in all they've been doing a good job given the strictures they have to work under. I'm with you totally on this. Just look at Man U if you want to see crap ownership.
Success will lie to you but failure always tells you the truth. |

There’s much more to keeping Gallagher than just being able meet Chelsea’s asking price. What about what he thinks. I’m sure Palace would not be on his shortlist as a long term prospect.
