Eze stands off and doesn't tackle. Good one the ball yes, but he needs to work harder on the other aspects of a midfielder's role.

No he doesn't he has No10 on his back, that's his position, free role

You can’t carry poor tacklers in the PL. Look at the effort to tackle and chase back for the front 3 of both Liverpool and Man City. Eze either improves in this area or I cannot see him playing a big part in a PV first 11. My guess is we are going to see him as an impact sub for most of this season.

If that is truly the case, then you have answered the question why he doesn't get much time in PV'S 4-3-3.

Its basically 6 defenders and 4 attackers, you can not have the three midfielders running back all the time at the moment we are playing with three defensive midfielders, the only creative player is Olise, Wilf has an assist every 6/7 games, not good, that is why we don't create much, Eze is crucial to our team, Gallagher is not

The hole you keep digging for yourself gets bigger with each ridiculous statement you make. But you're just here for the wind-up, no?

The days of luxury players in the PL are in the past. The whole philosophy behind the high press is that your forwards and attacking midfielders have to do their fair share of pressing and defending. Eze has always struck me as approaching the defensive side of the game either cluelessly or half-heartedly (I'm never quite sure which). As much as I love to see him on the ball, I don't see him playing a significant role in PV's set-up unless and until he starts to learn and apply the defensive side of the modern PL game.

If Newcastle do offer upward of £45m for him, I can see the club saying yes and I wouldn't blame them.

Top sides dont carry passengers, if they dont do as the manager wants, which is essentially press without the ball, you dont get in the team.

Take the £41m and spend it on Gallagher, you know it makes sense. Bring Jesuran R/S through to replace him..

There was another thread like this and that was bullsh!t too.

Bloke is just coming back from a serious injury and prior to that he was on the verge of getting an England cap. Give him a chance FFS.

What you say has been echoed by other posters, it has also been mentioned that Eze needs to get up to speed with PV's preferred pressing game otherwise he might not start regularly. This seems a reasonable assumption.
The contention in the discussion comes via another poster who for some deluded reason thinks that Gallagher is keeping Eze out of the team. Absurd nonsense.

Surely it has to be accepted that ,Gallagher, and Eze are just simply different options. Different types.
Gallagher in form is always going to be hard to displace, he is the all round midfielder, and at his best outstandingly good ,he has it all he can defend, he gets into a tackle in both defence and attack, and has a proven eye for a goal. In short he has something of the old fashioned box to box about him.
Eze, does need more time to recover after a serious injury holdup to his progress, and when he gets right up to speed it will be fair to judge him, whether he would ever possess Gallagher all round game ,I rather doubt it. But that doesn’t mean that he does not possess the ability to be a very influential player used in ways best suited to what he does bring to the game.
