On form and paper, we will be lucky to get 0. But miracles can happen, as did at the Etihad ! Statistically, an upset will happen one day, but I doubt it will be this weekend.

The absence of CG is a big deal, although he does seem a tad lack lustre at present, but IF Jimmy Mac is fit enough to play at least 45, with his industry, AND if we can get back to playing the pressing game, on the front foot, with energy and incisive passing, as we did earlier in the season, we might scrape a draw!

Watching most recent tv/prem games, (particularly the Newcastle game at the weekend), the obvious difference is pace. Sideways, backwards, limited off the ball movement, and a lack of through-the-line passing could also result in a thumping, so at least let’s have ago. Sure, being to adventurous against CFC could be a step too far, but let’s see more energy, crosses, and above all shots. Were not Citeh and can’t pass our way through teams...yet !

I'd love to get something out of this game, but they are a different class so I'm going for a 4 - 1 loss. They'll be buzzing as they are now World Champions

Ayew and Zaha the two most fouled players in the league. It tells us one of two things: either we are total sh1t at set pieces, or we don't get much for those fouls (or a bit of both).

0-3, but hope we go for it. Play Olise and Clyne behind him, start Eze, rest Schlupp and put some pressure on. Like they say: "Attack is the best defense!"

Our poor recent form has been coincidental mainly with Schlupp being being played in central midfield. The midfield with him in there has looked lost. Add in Zaha being Zaha, Ward being exposed, and us content to play from side to side for the sake of it and offer little goal threat, and it becomes fairly clear what has gone wrong.
PV really needs to get the midfield firing again. With CG out for this one, at the very least Schlupp has to be left on the bench and Kouyate brought in alongside McArthur. Unless we match their tempo we'll get thumped.
3-0 Chelsea.

This will be one of those games where we do not have the greater possession in the 90 minutes for a change. It’s hard to see us getting anything out of the game, so 2-0 to Chelsea, one of those being a soft penalty where VAR comes into play.

Bore draws have been away. We appear to be playing a team in transition, take no chances type attitude on our travels. Our home form has been surprisingly good.

We also have Jimmy Mac and Kouyate to select.

That said, they are very good indeed. But...

1-0 to us. Would sum up our season so far.
