Our last three goals have been scored by Schlupp, Kouyate, and Riedewald. I have NO idea what Viera has been thinking, but who am I to argue?

Often subs seam a little odd, but yesterday was something else.

It's not often that you play 3 different players at left back during a game!

But hey, we're in the hat

Like everyone else, I was puzzled by yesterday's substitutions. If you are trying to win a game why leave Edouard and Eze on the bench and bring on Luca and Jairo? I wonder if he felt we were being overrun in midfield (which I think to an extent we were) and so needed bolstering in that department? As it worked, it is hard to complain, if it hadn't worked it isn't hard to imagine the reaction on here. My general view is that managers know more about what they are doing then I do when it comes to winning football matches so, in Vieira I trust.

the last person I am bringing on if we need to control the midfield is Luka. And proved by when he did come on yesterday he looked slower than even his bang average levels. However, I think yesterday none of them looked like they wanted to really be playing against Stoke in that weather. that is both subs and starters.

Does the academy employ a shrink?

Fair point about Luka.

I couldn’t believe it last night when it was still 1-1 PV brought on Luka AND Reidewald, it seemed a bit of a Royish thing to do. But what do I know?? Reidewald scores and we’re through ooooohhhh Vieira

Jairo looked bigger and older, was it really him?

I thought Luka and Jairo made an immediate difference, the defence looked more solid with Luka, and Jairo's composure and passing ability.

And it changed the outcome in our favour so no complaints here.

The 2 substitutes last night swung control back in our favour, but everyone is right there have been some strange decisions over the course of the season.

Last night looked like a game for Eze to take part in…

Good point. Plus he is bigger isn't he? I felt like mentioning pies but he scored so he's a hero for now: until the next game.
