New Main Stand - Presented 50 months ago !!!!!

I now hope the current Main Stand will survive until 2024 when it will achieve genuine antique status and we will be able to celebrate its 100th birthday!! It would be suitable time to open the new rebuild.

The proposed new stand is a vanity project by the current board and a massive mistake. If it was ever built it would stick out like a sore thumb compared to the other 3 mismatching sides. I have always advocated that we should build a stand that compliments the style of the Holmesdale, so that at least half our ground matches up. There is no need to make it as lavish as the current proposal and money saved could be spent to re-furb the AW which let's be honest is a s**hole.

Completely agree with you, save money on that and redesign with wrap arounds to increase the capacity (Someone exlained why this wouldn't work a while back I think). Option 2 would be put a second tier And a wraparound for the Whitehorse end as again it would increase capacity. The Arthur (could be renamed the okey-cokey stand) I was in for the Hartlepool cup tie, painful especially on my aged knees.

We sat in the main stand for the Hartlepool game. How on earth do the ST holders in there cope with the incredibly tight seating? we spent most of the time in the lounge as it really was uncomfortable and painful! I’ll never complain about the AW again LOL.

I have since been fortunate to move to Row 16 which has extra leg room because it used to have a barrier at the front of the step. I now don't even have to stand up when people want to go past!
