I noticed Sky were doing hit or miss on team's transfer windows. Personally think ours is a miss - Mateta was already here, so nothing added. Hopefully was cheap as reported.
Plane - for the future, may work out, may not.

I believe other teams have strengthened, those around us in particular.

I didn't expect us to buy anyone. That pretty much happened. A bland window at best.

Hopefully his career at Palace takes off.

It's been a very sensible window for January.

Watching Palace play this season has been a real joy, and it's still a work in progress. As relegation is unlikely (fingers crossed!) the rest of the season can be used to develop the current squad.

We've signed Mateta - hopefully giving him stability and confidence.

Aaron Ramsey is a great player but prone to injury, and has been on a ridiculously huge salary. Even if Palace only had to pay 25% of his wages that would be excessive. A bullet dodged.

Van de Beek - what's the point in a short-term loan? There is no option to buy and we have plenty of midfield options.

Nketiah - showed no enthusiasm for Palace. He will be available in the summer on a free if we're still interested.

Plange - an inexpensive acquisition and worth a punt.

Hopefully, there will be some money saved for a decent summer window when certain players leave.

Yep, I'd go along with these comments. Oh, and mine's a Young's thanks.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

It's an ok window mainly as we weren't in desperate need of anyone although certainly need a new DMF in the summer. I have my doubts about Mateta but willing to be proved wrong. Plange is someone I had never heard of, hopefully had a good rest of season at Derby and is one for the future.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Positives
-We didn’t waste money on overpriced cast offs in positions we didn’t need (VDB, Nketiah,Dele)
-Saved £5m on the Mateta deal
-No risk transfer for Plange. Also good to help out a struggling team by agreeing a fair deal instead of being vultures like some clubs.

Negatives
-Left ourselves very short of cover defensively. Any injuries to the back 4 and we are scrapping

I do remember him. I'm not sure if we have got many other players from Derby. He score goal number 4 in our win in at Wrexham that secured promotion to Div.2 in 1977 ( or did after the results on the last Saturday went our way).

Would have been reasonable to sell one and gain one which we didn't do. So a poor window for me.

Who'll be in the mix for relegation even harder to guess now.

I agree with others that I wasn’t expecting many transfers either, if any at all. We spent over £65m in the summer and that’s without CGs loan fee (all of which was needed). The squad seems very settled at the moment so I think there’s little risk of relegation with the current team and nothing to disrupt it in terms of new players - think Asprilla for Newcastle back in the 90s.

We have a good first team and strong bench too. Mateta feels like a new signing as he hasn’t featured much before and Eze is still to get back to fitness. Mateta also seems to be building a good playing relationship with Edouard so let’s hope that continues to grow. I expect that we need to make signings in the summer, mainly to replace CG (if not try to buy him) and, imo, we need more defensive cover who are better at playing to Vieira’s style (as our backups can’t - Kelly/Tomkins/Ward)

If not spending this window means more money for the summer when fees aren’t too overinflated, then I actually think it’s been an ok window. We didn’t lose anyone.

DF & Co started planning last summer's spending well in advance. I suspect that whilst there may have been targets identified for the next summer window, there wasn't going to be any movement this window unless one of those targets came up unexpectedly.

Similarly, you can only sell if there's someone who wants to buy what you have and let's face it, who do we want to offload that anyone would want? The nearest might have been Benteke but he's got too nice a deal here to want to leave.

Really disappointed we didn't get in any cover for CB's or LB.

No adequate cover in those positions imo.

Very pleased that we avoided the over the hills, basket cases, uninterested money grubbers. A good window.

If we are ever to be proper top half, challenge for Europe, or God knows even win something, it will be on the back of some great buys or fantastic academy grads. Thus is because we are not in the same market as the big boys with their infinitly deep pockets and we have an awesome academy and catchment area.

Therefore everything we do should be about that and building our great future. Leave the £50m+ marquee signings to those guys.

I didn't get the Ramsey thing (if it was real) nor really the VdB thing even.
