Seeing as we've been a 2nd half team of late I'd have Ayew in for the first 45 to help soften / prevent damage with Olise off the bench for the 2nd half

Given Olise' experience level, stature, age & stamina - Example - Norwich, Southampton, Newcastle, Everton - Maybe Leeds - the other games Ayew starts & Olise comes off the bench - Games where he isn't going to end up getting slaughtered by over physical defenders or tactically exposed by superstar opponent's going forwards. Next year Olise will be older, stronger, more experienced & you may well find that the number of games where Olise starts increases & Ayew becomes more of a back up.

I thin that is PV's plan to use Ayew to help bring Olise through, not sure that's Ayew's plan but alas that is sport. As for Olise he can learn a lot from Ayew about breaking up play and drawing a foul.

I’m a big Ayew fan. Not only his work rate but his quick skilful feet. Draws in 2 players when he’s on the ball creating space for others. Must be a mare to play against and draws fouls.
The beatings will stop when morale improves. |
