We still need to win five matches to stay up although the abnormally high number of draws (nine) might mean only four more wins are needed. I can see all the teams at the bottom kicking hard, in more senses than one, to stay up, so I'm not sure that 36 points would be enough. 38 should be. That's what we are looking for, year after year, to stay in the ever more elite company of the Premiership. Shocking decisions yesterday by officials who are programmed to expect the big teams to win. COYP! Edited by Elwissthebest (24 Jan 2022 4.23pm)

I'm 70 and alo hope to see us become a team to be respected and feared in the top half of the table before this decade is too much older.

As long as we stay up I don't care how many points we get.

We may regret all those points thrown away earlier. I know that we should have at least four more points (last minute equalizers from Brighton and Arsenal). Can you think of any more? Just from memory, Schlupp missed on 88 minutes against Leicester for what would have been a terrific come-back from 0-2 and Guehi missed a header right under the bar at the death at West Ham, so that would have been four more points to add to the four you reference. One more point than the team that finishes 17th will do me. This weekend we need to cut out the nonsense (poor defending, poor finishing, giving the oppo too much respect) and snuff out all signs of a Norwich revival. Edit: sorry, not "this weekend". I got my wires crossed! Edited by YT (26 Jan 2022 5.13pm)

This season we have 24 pts from 22 games. Last season we attained 29 pts from the first 22 games and finished the season on 44 pts. I suppose there is the distinct possibility we will not attain 20 pts from the 16 games remaining which would take us to last season's points total.
