With respect why not spend some little time with an English Dictionary to get the correct plural spellings?

Generally the plural of a word ending in 'Y' is 'IES'

Therefore: Salary is singular Salaries is plural.

Thus endeth today's grammar lesson.

Bravo

And now the real reason you started this thread - to continue your anti Benteke campaign. You’re pathetic.

Re- hashing old data which may or not be reliable, you certainly have no way of knowing.

No one has any data show he has less than 120k a week, if there is post it, or shut it

It seems to have been taken for granted he took a cut, nobody accept the club or him know, Spotrac is a good website, mainly for the American market, show me a better one.

I think regardless of whether he took a pay cut or not Benteke is way too comfortable at Palace to leave, unless he gets pushed out.

FFS why are you always so argumentative??

My rationale for his basic being lower is that after 4 years of under performance and his age getting to 30 (no resale value) his bargaining position was a lot weaker. Surely even SP who has a poor track record in this department will have used that to our advantage. I suspect the initial 1 year extension may have had a release clause it it to suit both sides.

In the summer when he was bosman his agent would have seen what offers were out there. With covid impacting the global economy his bargaining position would have been weakened further. The fact that he re-signed AFTER his contract ran out shows that the Palace offer was as good as any alternatives offered or was good enough not to move as he and his family are settled in London etc.

Your understanding of contracts is poor too - even for renewals you still get signing on fees, this has been the case for a number of years. I remember Bruges looking at him a few years ago. For him to go back to Belguim i suspect even as a marquee signing he will not get more than say £30k a week so that was never going to happen.

It is not like he is playing for free. If say he is now on say £80k (just my guess - keep your hair on) he is still a multi millionaire and well rewarded for the job he does. He is also still one of our top earners.

Do you think Wickham got a similar wage when he left Palace? He probably took a 80% drop, so would have probably accepted a 50% pay cut to stay with us

Another site with salaries. A few seem a little high and a few a little low IMHO.

Clyne is on £19k according to this.

Another issue with the listed salary is that it is made up of a number of elements and agents in particular like to roll these up into a single figure.

Salaries include a signing on fee (all contracts have this), a basic and bonuses - appearances, winning, goals scored, staying up, promotion, relegation, cup wins etc.

As a player gets older, especially those with a mixed injury record i suspect the bonus element increases and the basic reduces - the quoted salary may be unchanged.

Such a bizarre thing to get so angry about.

If you don't want to hear the opinions, you're probably better off posting the information to the club with a letter of complaint attached than posting it on a message board where we have only opinions and no decision making power.
