Luxury player. Sometimes good going forward, never good coming back.

I cant see where he fits in the team with Vieiras formation. He cant play in midfield 3 as he doesnt tackle or is mobile enough. When others are fit and back from AFCON, I can see him being on the bench and used as a sub depending on how the game is going.

He did look, last night, to be way off the form we came to love before his injury. Don't expect too much too soon lads. He did have a serious problem and his return was sooner than expected anyway.

As others have said above, Afcon, Covid and injuries are all impacting badly on us at the moment as well.

Olise was well snubbed out last night too. Other teams research and target our best players. It's why Wilf always followed closely by 3 players.

Your right they had deffo done their homework on Olise. Every time he even thought about cutting back inside and shooting or crossing, as he did against millwall, they were all over him.

The formation is wrong, too get the best of our players

A couple of points, other players who have suffered this type of injury have taken at least a year to get back to any where near their previous form. So it could be some time (if at all) for him to get back to where he was. To be perfectly honest last season he was very inconsistent not unusual for a young player.
I would also question if PV was looking to sign someone would Eze be a target now. As with other previous posters I can't see how he fits our current style. Which begs the question of how adaptable can he be in the future.

Why doesn’t he fit in the midfield 3

He's pure silk when he's running with the ball at his feet, but he is not combative like McArthur, Hughes or Gallagher. That's a big deficiency in a professional footballer at any level.

He sometimes pretends to tackle, but it is just paper-bag stuff and sometimes so clumsy that he gets booked.

It is far too risky to play him in the centre. He is too flaky.

Sadly, despite flashes of sublime briliance, I do not see much of a future for him in Premier League football.

I’m guessing you didn’t watch him when he played Cm for us last season , best player in that position

When he got injured a doctor explained it would take up to a year after he had recovered his fitness before he would get back to where he was (if ever).

We have to give the lad some time.
