So some mps are accused of taking money from alleged Chinese spies. So while the tories' party; Labour are potentially doing the same but internationally. The futures bright, the futures red. Maybe not Labour red though ! Don"t critique him just yet, they are holding an inquiry headed by his very experienced secretary- she has the respect of all and sundry, is honest as they come! we are hoping to hear the results sometime soon-these things take time if fully investigated-but should be before 2030-until then- he is an innocent man.

As Matov says - and regardless of our differing politics - they are all pretty rotten - not all but most are out for something they wouldn't get in the real working world.

Agree Dolphin, with what you say about what motivates MPs these days. Mrs POG and I were saying the same only the other day. They no longer seem to have the interests of the Country or their constituents in mind, just in it for their own benefit. Trying to raise their own profile. Sad state of affairs reflects today's 'I want it all....now!' culture. You only have to look at the calibre and general attitude of politicians just as recently as the 50s and 60s to see how low things have sunk these days.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

I am sure that Mrs Thatcher still does - as she always did - divide opinion - but if nothing else she did work hard for the Country.

Gardner is quite clean on this, clearing it with the security services and declaring it properly. But I don't like him, so sack him anyway.

Obviously I'm no fan of his politics but Gardner actually has brains. And in the modern Labour party that's like Hen's teeth.

Still don't see why he accepted it I am not bothered about the spy bit (I take his word he didn't know) its just wrong. This is the problem its not wrong by their rules which they make to suit themselves.

In all fairness, the money wasn’t spent on him, it was a number of donations for staff wages for constituency work. Like it or not this is completely normal and just the way that politics works in this country. It’s dodgy, but they’re all at it. David Cameron, Theresa May and Sir Ed Davey all took her money, but the focus seems to be on Gardiner in the press. Cameron and May were building the Hinckley Point nuclear plant for China at the time. What has Gardiner done for China? Why has the story come out now? This was all known years back, but it’s only just getting reported. Is it to distract from the investigation into parties at number 10?

I note that Sir Keir may have had a drinks soiree himself which while it is probably a little innocent I note that mainstream media and the far left BBC do not even want to mention.I

I know of Labour Councillors, who are very much in the socialist camp. Yet they own big rural detached houses and very much inclined towards "not in my backyard" policies. Name me any politician who doesn't do that ? Corbyn just didn't know what was acceptable to the public. And banging someone with a face that launched 1000 ships, or a bulldog chewing a wasp, was never going to be widely seen as acceptable Attachment: Diane_Abbott.jpg (21.44Kb)
