If Chelsea let us (I assume we need their permission), I would play him on Saturday, even if only in the 2nd half. Get him match fit and ready for Brighton and Liverpool.

Assuming he has recovered from whatever has kept him out.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

He is contracted, on loan to to us until end of season they can only recall him if he has not played in at least 50% of our games. The only time he would not be able to play in FA Cup would be if we were drawn with Chelsea!

Any thoughts for line-ups?

Usual back 5 I would say.

Personally I think Gallagher should play to ditch rust ahead of Brighton.

Olise starts.

Rak-Sakyi time?

I don't think we have an entreched system throughout the squad yet where you can make massive changes and expect to roll over a reasonable Championship side who, let's face it, will be right up for it.

Better a bit of rust, than getting more serious injury against Millwall and not being able to play for the rest of the season. Why not if the youngsters are so good as some seem to think should they not be given a chance and lets see what they can do?

I've seen a reasonable number of the Academy games over the last couple of years and, sorry, IMO the youngsters are (Rak-Sakyi excepted) some way from being ready. Furthermore, I want to see us have a cup run this year. I would field a strong team, although I'd start Gallagher on the bench.

I would play Butland, Ward, Tomkins, Kelly and Clyne.

The last time it was 3.0 at half time against Millwall was a new years day game ( last game George Burley was in charge)
Clearly not one of our best days.

No. That game was in the mid 90's. I think Alan Smith was our manager then.......but still not one of our best days......

No it wasn’t. We’ve beat you twice 3-0 at home on New Year’s Day. The one you’re quoting in the 90’s was the first one.

Sorry, read again, you meant the all three goals in the first half. Yes you’re right.
