I can now confirm that the club will make up the shortfall and put the rest in. Thank you to everyone who donated. This is going to happen! Well done. Glad to see the club starting to take our history seriously. I would like to see something for Peter Simpson personally

Spiderman, Yes I can confirm I have e-mailed and spoken to Edmund's grandson. He remembers his grandad from when he was a boy and in his 80's, Edmund would still kick a football to him with his one leg while using his crutches. Although Edmund had a leg amputated, he never had a wooden leg, just used crutches for the rest of his life. Neill, yes I read your message and have responded. When the memorial has been restored I will post the news. Thank you guys.
I am delighted to tell everyone that the memorial to Edmund Goodman has now been restored. It looks amazing. Thank you to everyone who donated. |

Thank you for all kind comments. For directions, enter Beckenham Crematorium and Cemetery from the Elmers End Road entrance and take the first turning on your left. At the bottom of that roadway as the road starts to bend, the grave is on the roadside on your left.
