Sadly a red card which has been waiting to happen for weeks, other teams have sussed him out now and know which buttons to push. Work rate not great and very petulant & sadly without Macarthur in the side, about the only player who seems to be able shut him up, was always likely.

PV has been asking more from Wilf lately and he will be fuming today. While he is away i expect one of our young talents to claim his shirt and keep it. One of our best performances was at the Emirates and Wilf was not playing so the days when we were a one man team are over.

No player has done more for this football club than zaha, without him we would probably be struggling in the championship playing hoofball, his temperament has always been terrible, probably one of the attributes thas held him back in his career. His been pretty poor this season but has singlehandedly carried us the last 6 seasons some fans have short memories, instead of jumping on him when he's struggling how about supporting him and the club.

I agree with the majority of what you say but when is he going to grow up! He’s one of our senior players and today’s actions were petulant and childish. Grow up Wilf, you have the talent.
In dog beers I’ve only had one. |

Looked awful and disinterested today before yet another demonstration of what I would describe as moronic petulance and bewilderingly sad behaviour - it’s actually quite embarrassing and/or sad to see a supposedly grown man act like that. I could speculate that is a result of a detachment from reality being a high paid and pampered footballer from such a young age but I struggle to ignore the responsibilities and personality of the player here. In years gone by I’d of struggled to imagine life without Wilf, I would’ve wondered how we’d ever have gotten into the opposite final third or scored let alone stayed in the premiership for this time! For me personally I feel in the space where I can’t imagine mourning the loss of Wilf as I would have done seasons past but the greatest tragedy would be the short memory of football for myself (and I’d suggest others) to see Wilf depart in acrimonious circumstances and without any real feeling of loss or sadness. Would not shock me however if this does happen although I struggle to see who’d take him let alone shell out a relative amount of money for him as he is now.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I don’t think anyone is disputing this. He’s clearly a club legend and in my lifetime Palace’s best ever player. However, his attitude and constant petulance at times suggests he doesn’t care anymore, nor want to be here. He’s certainly not except from criticism. Sadly he’s not our best player anymore, so he needs to stop performing likes he’s untouchable and put the effort in like the other 10 players on the pitch. He’s missed his chance for his big move, but he’s been well compensated for that with a mega contract from Palace. He’s a professional who needs to get his head down, pull up his socks and fight for the cause. As fans, it’s reasonable to accept 100% effort and a professional attitude from all players.

Unlikely but that could potentially be his last game for Palace. 2 match suspension, then Afcon and if he's sold then it'll be sad end to his Palace career.
I expect he will end up only leaving when his contract expires.

Moss and Wilf is not a good combo for us. Moss had a shocker last week and was rightly criticised on MOTD. Seems Wilf will never change now, consistency never his strong suit. He goes over very easily and his reputation is made with the officials. He is a senior player who still can become a petulant child and the result is what we saw today
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |
