The double Cruyff turn was class; however, the most important thing that he did was make himself available for the easy pass, which took the pressure of the defence and got us moving up the pitch. Yesterday's performance suggests we may have got a bit of a bargain. Let's hope he can keep it up.

I'd be very surprised if he doesn't start on Wednesday, although maybe not quite up to playing a full 90 minutes just yet. Really liked what I saw from him yesterday. Neat and tidy, kept the ball even in tight situations and not afraid to mix it when required. A good debut. Spot on analysis Neillo. I was expecting him to be a touch rusty after so little game time this season but he was an absolute beast to be honest!! He faded a bit which was to be expected but once he's match sharp I can see him being a permanent fixture.. I'm struggling to see a future for Luka now after Hughes performance yesterday and once Jimmy Mac is back
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

Not sure about having an engine, was knackered on 60 minutes, maybe not enough game time. First start in months, not surprisingly faded. He most certainly has got “an engine” which, hopefully he will be able to show very soon

WH made the simple pass ... composed on the ball. Kept our midfield ticking over and all in all slotted in well. Looking for space all the time which meant CG didn't have to track all over the field like he has done. All in all I was very pleased for him .... keep it up. COYP

Very assured performance. As many have said, he kept the midfield ticking over, which left Connor free to get forward and CK free to go and try and ball win. At the start of the season I must admit I saw him as someone to step in whilst Macca was out. Though after that I think he has to play in that DCM position.

Agree with the posts on here. Very happy to see him playing. He is a classier JM and does great corners and he can score.

A very assured debut, and good to see him running into unoccupied territory. I was a bit disappointed with his early movements, passing sideways and back at times, but I guess he was just acclimatising himself within the team. Fits like a glove!

An upgrade on James MacArthur ! Based on 60 minutes, whereby McArthur has been great for us for 7 years. Prefer to see him play a few more games and last 90 minutes, before making sweeping statements.
