Planes, Trains and Automobiles is often on at Christmas and is a classic Technically I believe its a Thanksgiving movie so I figured I'd mention it! Agreed - classic. For some reason I have a desire to rewatch 'Animal House' this Xmas....not really a Christmas movie but it will probably chime with my drunken state.

The Longest Day, mainly because that's what Christmas Day feels like! But it is a great movie looking at D Day from all PsOV. The Longest Day is possibly the movie I've watched more times than any other (close run with The Godfather and Zulu). A great collection of cameo scenes and performances (some of the scenes quite preposterous, but who cares?!). Much of the acting talent of the early 60s outshone by a handful of lines each from Richard Burton and Kenneth More.

The Railway Children, my missus would suggest. I prefer something a bit more grim to celebrate the birth of baby Jesus. It kind of brings the 'Herod' out in me.
