Lots of talk over here about Foster...lots reckon he's not up to the job. I tend to agree. I think the gap has shrunk between Southern/Northern hemisphere.

Ireland were much better. Why make 14 changes? Played into Ireland's hands, will have been regarded as disrespectful. Add in that a few of the Irish are over looked All Black's and you saw the perfect storm. I think there should be questions over the coach.

It was great, and at about 75 mins when the All Blacks were applying so much pressure, the crowd started singing The Fields of Athenry to give their team that final push. Very moving.

divided into 2 national teams has always diluted the ability to win games. And anyway lots of the Republic's team are Brits & Protestants and the Ulster team had Catholics.....who cares about religion anymore ? The Rugby team managed to get over their tribal differences.

You"ve sold it to me PV, and the people in the South wouldn"t object, but I doubt the North, or half of them, would be in favour.

The problem is that football fans are a bit less middle class and a little more edgy...certainly on the Shankill. we could always have a 32 county football team and re-brand the name. The British & Irish Lions was ok for rugby. How about the British & Irish Paddy's for football ? Paddy Ashdown & Paddy Blair Mayne had the Paddy name. Both Prods and proud Brits. No problem then ? Blair Mayne even played Rugby for ireland. The most decorated soldier in the british army. Wearing the Green. a 32 county irish football team might even beat Croatia.
