Have you listened to Ballance. According to him that isn't true and that they both were friends during and after and Rafiq also participated in 'banter' against him. While personally I've never really been into that kind of language I've seen this between friends many times....insults do get used as jokes and banter.

Ballance was invited to his wedding. You seem only concerned with one narrative.

Have you read all the evidence in the case? You can’t just take the side of one person who happens to sit with your convenient worldview.

He was treated appallingly throughout the club over a sustained period of time. Even now the club are trying to pretend they didn’t and are finding that out the hard way. Turns out it’s go racist go broke, not what your right wing bros think.

Isn't that what you're doing? Like I said Ballance was invited to his wedding....I don't see that he was treated 'appallingly' at all. I think that is actually a lie.

What I see is an average cricketer, who never really made it, and who is bitter and looking to gain anyway he can.

It feeds into your anti white male prejudices that you are only interested in his take. I'm interested in the reality.

Again, have you read the report?

A summary of it yes.

Yorkshire CC are correct as far as I can tell.

Yep from what I read Yorkshire CC have made the right decision and are being destroyed by the 'woke' management at the ECC and idiots in government.

Ballance is finding out that what is said between friends has a whip hand and isn't treated equally. We will see if he and Yorkshire are the new sacrificial lambs to the new approved racism.

Simon Jordan made the point that the inquest/ report into this was conducted by a panel that was multi racial and the lady leading it is big on racial rights etc and exposing racial injustices and yet they found it to be banter and not very serious!

But once the media gets a sniff of a story like this then we know who is right and who’s gonna be hung out to dry straight away!

What kind of amuses me is that Yorkshire tried to produce a report which was fair, when what the 'woke' want are sacrificial lambs to justify their new approved culture.

Personally I think intent matters, and while this isn't language I would use I don't think a culture of fear should exist between people over words. If someone is using words that are objected to and says it to the person concerned and it continues then they are being treated badly....then that's fair and another thing entirely.

I don't think this happened here.

I think what is happening is quite frankly outrageous.

Ballance thought it was ‘banter’ and Rafiq didn’t. That’s what matters, not the intent.

So you have read the report?

No you haven't.

This case demonstrates everything that is wrong with this county.

Another institution being ruined by immigrants and spineless virtue signallers.
It's an absolute joke that this can happen over some name calling between friends.

If there is more to it, perhaps the more is that board at Yorkshire thought this bloke was a troublemaker and treated him accordingly.

Perhaps he suddenly developed all this angst about alleged racism when he fell out of favour.

Shades of Mark Sampson and Eni Aluko. That whole affair stank as well.

I think that until the general public and the media read the full 100 page report then maybe there should be some calm.
Us arguing on here about possible racism isn't good because I am sure that regardless of our different political preferences none of us would want to support something that is inherently wrong.

That's true, but It works both ways, however.

I for one am shocked that the posters who have posted on this thread so far are on Yorkshire’s side. It’s always the ones you least suspect to ignore all the evidence right in front of their face to side with their own prejudices isn’t it?

Lets be honest, when it comes to stories like this then I sneer and you salivate. There is no middle ground, hence the growing divide in our nation.

Its a nothing story. At best, a case of banter between team mates that potentially got out of hand. And that's it.

But we will happily scrap away over it and just entrench ourselves even further in our particular political outlooks.

Such is the way of the world.

No one has read the report as so far it has not been published.

Clearly you can line up behind one side or the other but until the facts are known then who knows what really happened.

This has clearly caused some ructions in God's own county and it is interesting the chairman of Yorkshire CCC has now resigned saying the club has failed in its response to the report.

If nothing else this will wake up more of those who have had their heads in the sand.
