when we were rumoured to be in for him, I along with a lot of others got really excited. With hindsight it was just desperation that anyone with an ounce of credibility was being touted for the role. Thank goodness that the stars aligned the way that they did. I don't think many of the other 'shortlisted' managers would have created the exciting vibe that is currently brimming around the club.

Apparently Spuds tapped him up just before he was to make a final decision. He also wanted to sign Traore if what you hear is to be believed. A man without honour and he’s now on Newcastles shortlist. This year just gets stranger. Well done Patrick by the way.

Place your bets now. How long will Nuno's successor last before being sacked?

Be careful, they might have their eyes on PV! I don't wish Nuno any harm, but so glad we avoided that particular bullet. Can't see he has any options left in the UK. Norwich?

Still flabbergasted they sacked Pochettino.

I never really got why he and Wolves parted company. He was actually my favorite to take over here but I always thought that he would think he was too big for us. We would have had to pay him big money to come and then after a season or two, he would do a Pulis. So when I heard about the saga to sign him, I think we definatly dodged a bullet. He often looked shell shocked in the dugout at spurs. I know it's only early doors but I am sooo happy that we got Vieira. I thought he was at the right level for us, in terms of his experiance and reputation. The biggest thing is his standing with the players, they seem to love him. Nuno at Newcastle could be a good shout. I just can't see who they would get at the moment. Someone like Nuno would fit them. He would probably just about keep them up.

The media are talking about Conte coming in, but given Chelsea fans disliked him for being too negative (despite winning the league) will he really be loved by Spurs' fans? To me Potter seems the perfect fit. From a Palace perspective it would also be hilarious to see the rug pulled out from under Brighton when they're having such a great season.

Seems almost certain Conte's got the job. £13m salary, but only an 18 mth contract. My paper suggests he'll be taking training today. Still think PV is a better fit for us than these so called 'big names'.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |
