Copout26 would be more appropriate.

Window dressing to hide the fact that fossil fuels are on the increase.

In the UK it would need a radical left-green government to make any difference.

The UK is a place just waiting for the next crisis, thinking that it will not really affect them anyway.

Actually the only person switched on and making a difference is Mayor Khan.

The reason The Greens won't get in as the Government, is because they look at What the Green Party is doing to Brighton. The link below is a recent example, but attracting a disproportionate number of 'homeless people' and turning the pavements into racetracks for cyclists and massive car parking charges are amongst other policies implemented.

'MPs vote to allow water companies to dump raw sewage into rivers'

Not doing themselves any favours, are they.

Not exactly cop26 chairmanship material, I would say.

On the day when we discover that HS2 will run on existing track.

It beggars belief, but then so does just about everything now.

Africa causes the least issues environmentally, but will be the first to suffer drastic problems due to it. Goes to show how little fairness there is in life and how often your geography, resources available to go you and temperature can go a long way towards dictating how your life pans out..

Humans are good at incrementally solving problems, but not so good at addressing issues that won't impact us much personally. Political parties are set up in much the same way. It's all short cycles and appealing to a future voter in for years, rather than someone who is probably not even born yet. And of course most often short term economic and certainly corporate interests are always against even believing in such a future to begin with.

It's no more than a photo opportunity and an echo chamber for the self virtuous.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Don't politicians therefore merely reflect human nature?

The idiots are holding up traffic on the M25 yet again.

What annoys me about these demonstrators and XR and the like is they always pick the wrong targets.

The poor motorists are not in a position to change policy on insulation.

I have said on here many times there are practical things these idiots could do which the public would also support.

Here is another one, they should video water companies dumping sewage into rivers and the sea and then get a couple of buckets and dump it over the CEO of the water company "Here's your sewage back".

Most of us would probably cheer and if the boss of a water company doesn't like it he has the power to make changes.

I'd make a great strategist for these idiots if they just listened, stop tilting at windmills and go after the real bad boys the public would love it.

Citizens should cover the outflow pipes themselves.

Politicians, judges have no affect on water companies they just ignore them.

The CEOs of water companies should be personally responsible for sewage damage to life and limb.

If they cause a death then manslaughter.

On their way to prison they should be relieved of all the money they have swindled from the public.

I think the target of a global 1.5 degrees temperature increase is too little, and perhaps too late.
China is bringing 48 coal-fired power stations on line in the next few years, and some furnaces.
I think the political will is not only lacking, but the financial gulf between countries is the major obstacle in trying to get global agreement.
China is noticeably absent from COP26

Be prepared for post-COP26 statements, such as "we're following the science", "hopeful of more data", "We're achieved a lot, but we've still got more to do".

And off the delegates will fly, back to their home countries to get re-elected on the back of prosperity, rather than going green.

I'm hoping Johnson will be doing his 'Churchill' swimming bit at the cop26.

Particularly as scottish water have just dumped a load of sewage into the river clyde.

Thought it was a little ironic yesterday that the weather delayed trains from Euston to Glasgow so badly that many of the COP delegates had to fly up there instead.

And this morning the boss of Network Rail blamed climate change for the delays. Makes a change from leaves on the line.

Climate change will increasingly become the shield for incompetence and bad management.
