You don't hear any gripes from ManU fans these days about their wealthy US owners. Not since they've got Ronaldo to w@nk over.
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

Serve them right if this happens...... Ban on alcohol in and around the ground, no pork sausages, pork pies or scotch eggs and any supporter taking his/her/their/ shirt off gets 20 lashes on the pitch as half time entertainment.
Only way you will get to see Becky is with your head covered! As we don"t know what you look like, this may be a travesty or a blessing in disguise! I can take a guess but am saying nothing!

I seem to remember last time round over 90% of NFC fans approved of the takeover. You have to ask how desperate you have to be for success to accept an alleged murderer as your new owner? I mean Ashley is a piece of sh!t, but by comparison he's Jesus Christ. If this was us I don't think I could continue supporting the club. Thankfully, on the face of it, Palace seem to be going in the right direction with the focus on community and strong values (eg homeless shelter, vaccine hub, etc.) Also, what kind of a fit and proper test is it for new owners that doesn't recognise human rights abuses? Are TV streaming rights really more valuable than human lives? I guess we're about to find out. If this happens I hope they get relegated.

If the Saudis spend like the Qataris, this move brings me one step closer to stopping following football at the highest level. The Super League replacement for the Champions League would do the same. Much better to watch a non-league side and not have to care about this as much. Thankfully I am still a dedicated Palace fan, but if there are now five teams (not counting Arsenal or Spurs) who can potentially outbid the rest/splash out on £100m signings in January if in danger then it reduces my interest. We always need that slim hope that we can do a Leicester or have a fair chance of beating the best sides if we play well. La Liga is usually competitive, but they only have one mega spending team left in Real after Barca's troubles.
I ain't got nuthin' funny to say. Sorry. |

Off the cuff I am thinking the wealthiest clubs should have their own super league, the rest could then be the PL and would have a chance of equal competition. Another thought is that a handicap system should apply, with the super rich brought into line by having points deducted according to their wealth advantage before each season. It seems at present to have more in common with the mafia than sport.

Its all a done deal, the EPL have caved in and many shekles have been exchanged, but thats football! To be fair, Newcastle are proper fans, always travelled in huge numbers, a bit like Celtic and rangers, thousands could turn up back in the day. If we can swallow the fact that football is corrupt with no morals, I would much rather Newcastle were challenging the others and nicking the title and a cup or two from them, especially the ruskies!

Sport is £$£$£$£$£$£$£$, corruption is £$£$£$£$£$£$£$, never the twain ?

They’ll presumably replace Bruce in time to splash the cash in January but can’t see much changing in the short term. The pressure on Bruce & the players will be immense now, hopefully we’re playing them soon enough to benefit from that.
