The police have been shamefully invisible during this and unless they Marshall this, it ain’t happening. Too busy with unicorns on cars and sorting out costumes for the next in trend protest. not sure what they are supposed to do. Who are they to Decide who needs fuel and who doesn't?

In case anyone's interested, I drove past the petrol station opposite the big TV mast at Crystal Palace at around 3.30 yesterday afternoon, and it looked like a normal day: three cars filling up and no queue.

Out here in the sticks (where most people actually do need a car) they have imposed a £20 or £30 limit per vehicle. Suddenly there is no shortage and everyone's getting to work on time.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Panic buying, whatever happened to the stiff upper lip and make do and mend attitude. I feel sorry for anyone who works on a forecourt or drives for a living, too many idiots out there. As for priority workers nice idea not very realistic. Who should get priority a GP or a traveling salesman. The GP? Yup if he makes home visits but if he refuses to see patients face to face no, well how do you identify that? No if we all calm down the problem will go away. Seems like it's been a bit overblown to me. I've gone across the country from Sommerset to East Yorkshire for a variety of reasons over the last few days, but I couldn't back out of any commitments. Had to fill up 3 times. On my travels I've kept an eye out for petrol stations with small queues from the point where I've started to drop below half a tank. Normally I'd have only gone on the look out when I had around quarter of a tank. I went into one forecourt that was empty. Only had to que behind 1 car the 3 times I got fuel. The biggest delay was down to some t*** doing a weekly shop at a garage in Lincolnshire. Drove past a fair few with long queues, but if you're savvy then most people could avoid long waits. A lot of families have cut down on a few events and gone down to one car. It's a hindrance for a few days but not really a crisis.
