I'm getting tired of seeing threads recently taking pops at refs.

Leave them alone lads. On the whole they do a very tricky job well. The interpretation of the laws may have moved on, but that's called progress. I've enjoyed watching games this season much more, thanks to the free flowing play with less whistle blowing and consequent interruptions.

In the last few days, on different threads, I've made the same comment. I called it roundabouts and swings, some you win, some you lose.

Any perceived bias is in the eyes of the beholder.

For most people it would be a nightmare job; trying to keep up with athletes who could be 30 years younger and, let's be honest, will very often try to con you or find a way to to cheat then get slaughtered for not seeing something.
The media don't help with comments like "You're never going to get that at...(insert ground).

The list of things you're not going to get at Selhurst is exceedingly long.

the way Ryan Giggs used to talk to referees whenever ManUre were playing somebody like Preston North End.

Giggs having a difference of opinion with a Preston player who, fairly, dispossessed him.

it always seemed to start with ''do you know who i am ?''

It's not rocket science, Lawrenson always tips us to lose as he is ex-Brighton scum.
Bias towards to big clubs ?? cannot believe the question's being asked - we have suffered plenty - FA Cup v Dirty Leeds, Feb 2003 & the Clusterf*** final 2016 being particular highlights of many.
How many times in games does a Dele Alli or a Xhaka commit loads of fouls & then the first Palace one gets penalised ??
VAR was supposed to improve the situation but is in the hands of a raft of incompetent referees, Dean, Moss & Pawson to name but 3.

Absolute dross and a myth made up by sore losers. Why on Earth would the refs favour the big clubs? Fans from all clubs seem to conveniently forgot about the bad decisions which go in their favour when this debate comes up.

Big clubs get more pens, but guess what, they have more possession and get in more dangerous positions.

On the whole the refs do well. Bad decisions happen but they tend to even themselves out over the course of the season.

I do believe refs can be influenced by a home crowd, but that’s the same for every team.

It's much harder to deny favouritism towards certain players as it is towards big teams.

Then there was Clattenburg who just straight up fancied himself as one of the elites, rubbing shoulders with legends and driving sporty cars.

Old Purple Nose used to make a career out of manipulating referees.

It felt like he was untouchable. The Vlad Putin of football.

I much prefer Putin, cos at least he plays fairly - and everybody knows the rules.

Did anyone see him on bbc brekkie this morning, advertising his new book 'The Whistle Blower'. They quizzed him on his tattoo's & the abuse of refs by players & fans, he openly admitted he isnt CPFC fans favourite & he is always welcomed to 'Old Trafford'(not in M'ch), where he didn't allow the 'advantage' & felt he couldn't rectify it at the time(or since).

He was a cnut then & now is just a poor excuse of a human being. He also admitted to being sacked by the Saudi's & has never ref'd professionally since . . . GOOD.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

the best professionals, in many careers, are almost invisible.

Clattenburg seems to love his own reflection in the mirror.
