Shows despite just being on loan it and the club means something to him - also IMO shows real class..!!

Definitely.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

We had Gallagher lined up on loan last season but at the 11th hour switched to Batshuayi which in hindsight was a mistake. However if we had of taken Gallagher would we have seen the performances from him we are currently seeing or would Roy have told him to just sit and focus on defending.

People have compared Gallagher with Loftus-Cheek further back in this thread. To be fair to Roy, Loftus-Cheek did better during his spell at Palace than he has anyhwere else since. Assuming that the tactics best suited to a squad predominantly formed of veteran and / or journeymen players defined the range of what Hodgson could offer as a coach is groundless and unfair.

Chelsea are awash with top midfielders. We may just get lucky and if he wants to join us get him for say 25m. If he enjoys being too dog at Palace that’s much better than fringe at Chelsea especially if we are in Europe.

Apart from his attacking play, he is not frightened to put it about a bit. Some of his tackles are uncompromising!

Brilliant player. Obviously surplus to requirements at Chelsea so I hope we have an option to buy within the loan agreement.

Thought he came close to a red with one challenge which didn't get highlighted on MOTD.

Agree that he will take pressure of Wilf, a bit like Yala did.

Even if it is only for a season, lets hope we get the best out of him.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Im sure we were playing with 12 men yesterday, he was everywhere. We should spend the entire next season transfer kitty on him, he's that good

Absolutely. I was in the Glaziers stand and he took the time to come down to us and the Whitehorse end to applaud us. Got me applauding him even more. Am very impressed with his whole attitude.

We should try and buy him in January.

As for the question about swapping him for Eze - very difficult. Eze was looking very good towards the end of last season when Zaha wasn't at his best. I'll be greedy and say have them both!

Two completely different players that both bring something different to the team.

I'm sure when Eze is available, PV will look to play them both.

Yes - I was going to post "we should make a cheeky bid in the January window" but you've saved me the bother!
