Thought we played ok for 70 mins, but as soon as we score a goal we just don't have any interest in playing - the Euros showed how vulnerable a 1-0 lead is and seems like we've learnt nothing from it. No subs is almost unbelievable given the quality of the squad.

We looked solid. we kept, and passed the ball well. Grealish infuriates me. No doubting his ability, or what he offers, but his style invites constant fouls which all it does is slow the play down as the oppo as time to regroup for the free kick. And he needs to learn to play to the whistle. He went down very easy on quite a few occasions, then moaning the lack of free kick to the ref. Most of the time the ref got it right. Not seen it before really From him, so I'll give him the benefit of The doubt for now. Did Poland find the right Balance of physicality to neutralise him? No substitutions is an absolute joke. Poland brought on their full quota, you knew that if we didn't do the same regardless of the quality of the players brought on, they would have an advantage, and it proved the case. Rant End.

Really agree with the bit on bold - he's built a fantastic culture, but inflexibility is costing us. I actually thought some of Mount and Grealish's interchanges last night were quite exciting - the overload on the left of those two and Shaw is a proper threat. It also meant Sterling had a lot more space off the right to run at his man one-on-one and I thought he should've done more with some of those opportunities. Someone like Sancho would've punished the full back given that much space to run at him. I thought Kane was far and away our worst player until the goal - feels like he's really overcomplicated his game of late. Spurs lack top forward players (other than Kane/Son) so it makes sense for Kane to get more involved in build-up, but it feels unnecessary with the national team. Thought Rice was excellent.

Not for a minute suggesting Kane gets dropped - no one else close to his bracket as a #9 currently. I actually like Abraham best of all the back-up options for now.

We are in a great position but Southgate has a few dangerous blind spots.

Away draw feels like a loss, and felt like a win for Poland. Fair play to England to genuinely look like giants on the world stage. There was a time when away in Poland may have been a bridge too far. However,I echo the sentiments of basically everyone else. Southgate not good enough. His mistake cost the final. His mistake cost the win here. Poor tactics, very poor substitutions (or lack of) x2. I also suspect no questions will be asked.

Same old Southgate, no plan B. He doesn’t know how to change the game. Hope to be proved wrong but England will never win a major tournament under Southgate in the same way Man Utd won’t under Solskjaer. Players are 10/10, GS is a 6/10. Wonder strike from Kane should have been enough against a fairly average team. Zero substitutes is astonishing. Poland had more energy at the end. 1-1 is what I predicted which is an ok result in the context of the group, but once again the manner was disappointing. We’ll get to the semi’s in Qatar and he’ll be lauded as a hero again. Yes I think slowly people will realise this. Too slowly possibly.

i have been supportive of Southgate however after his comments justifying his thinking on substitutes, I don't think that he will ever be a manager that can make a positive substitutional change in a major game. And this is often how big games are changed and/or won. Unless he changes that belief, we will watch more winnable games slide away from England. Shame as he has some great attributes as a manager but ultimately game management wins you tournaments. Edited by Frickin Saweet (10 Sep 2021 11.06am)

Edited by Frickin Saweet (10 Sep 2021 11.06am) Hard to disagree - our squad depth is one of our biggest weapons so it's madness not to flex it.
