Still captain until we hear otherwise. Hopefully PV can get him back firing...because has more quality than any other midfielder when he's on song. Have definitely needed him in the last couple of games to add some steel. Can't wait to see him back.

I'd be surprised if he sees the pitch with any regularity. He's lost significant pace over the past two or three seasons and has been not particularly sharp with the ball. Don't see how he makes it ahead of Gallagher and Hughes but that's just my opinion. I say all this while still being incredibly grateful for what he has contributed to the club. But if last season is any indication as to where his career is headed, we may want to think about sending him elsewhere during the next transfer window. Originally posted by sprites

With quicker personnel around him, he might be effective just sitting in front of back 3/4/5. Maybe pick the games he's used. Will have to displace Kouyate for regular time, but that could happen if there are injuries at the back.
