I would like to think that what has gone on at Chelski & places like Citeh ( over the last few years) where they have signed up so many lads who really wont ever play for them (as you say below) hopefully parents / agents will start to look beyond the short term (stars in their eyes signing for Chelski syndrome) & start to realise that their is a better opportunity for their up & coming teenager at a club that wants to develop & use academy product or just beyond academy in the first team

True, and saw this week Kenedy got a new contract and I think Bats too. They've no intention of ever using these players, but clearly it's good value for them to have them on their books getting rented out across the globe for ££££.

My hope is that within a few years, our academy can produce the standard of RLC and Gallagher and they'll actually be wanted for their contribution to the first 11. The opportunity is there to nurture from within.

Wait and see what happens when Olise and Eze are back. Plus Hughes. Add a bit of RakySaky and Banks. Then maybe one day Ferguson. There is Luna to come back plus anyone else we sign.
So refreshing to watch someone who really wants it. Loves his game and plays so hard. CG is heading for the very top. But at least he should help keep us safe this year

We've signed one of the young wizards from Harry Potter?

Connor played really well, his break up play in the middle was the closest we have come to replacing Cabaye.

Are you reading this Wilf, he plays with a smile on his face…

Luna Lovegood? I didn't know she played football but she'd certainly be able to provide the team with a bit of magic.

He definitely showed great composure for the second goal but don't get too carried away. He only scored twice last year for WBA.
Personally, I think Rak-Sakyi is a better bet, especially as he is one of ours. Take a look at the video highlights of the U23 game Friday against Everton. He really does look like a young Wilf

Different players and Different roles,

I agree with you. I was delighted when we signed Sakho and when we we took Bats back for a second loan. Then look what happened.

Gallagher and fans need to remain calm and performances will speak for themselves. We’ve seen us play really well for 2-3 matches and then get complacent and get embarrassed by teams below us. But Gallagher has pints to prove more than experienced loans, which is our new transfer strategy with permanent signings that aims to be sustainable.

I'd happily buy him a pint for every goal he scores here.

He'll be a great influence to the rest of the team if he continues like this. Can't wait to see him link with Eze.

We should just enjoy the season he has with us.

If he turns out to be a star player we won't be able to afford him.

We have some exciting championship buys to hope for when they eventually come back from injuries.

And we need to hope that Saki and Banks progress this season.

I've never known the club to have such a rich vein of upcoming talent.

I think he would. I know how hard it is for young talent to break through at chelski but Conor is just the type of player that is in fashion in the premier League.

I think a lot of comparisons will be made with Grealish and I will go out on a limb and say that, I could also see Southggate calling him up to an England squad, while he is here, providing of course that we can string some good mid-table results together

As to whether we could sign him, I don't think so. He is here to prove himself and I think he will. He will love his time here and I'm sure this club will have a firm place in his heart once he has moved on but his price will run away from us...

Good luck to the lad. Especially this season.

He's got something about him.

Not sure he would. In Kante, Jorghino and mount they have one of the best CMs in world football. Thats before you even get to Kovacic, Pulisic.

A bit ridiculous really
