This could be a master stroke by united. How many premier league winners in the squad? Is it one, who’s won it once? These top teams really have to up their game in the season Man City may not be at usual high strength, and united have been looking like title contenders for almost a year now. Ronaldo might give them that but more to maintain the highest levels they’re capable of throughout the season, and he’s probably the most professional and dedicated trophy winner there is.

Drinkers & party animals not welcome in the Trophy room. Maybe Jose Fonte can give Ronaldo the tour of the pubs of Thornton Heath ? Lots of us had a pint of beer while jose drank mineral water.

It’ll be interesting to see how he maintains his CR7 brand when the no. 7 shirt at Man U is already allocated to Cavani. Unless of course they can present overwhelming evidence as to why the number can be transferred. Let’s see how long it takes for that to happen.

And scoring in the sixth minute of the five added on ? so much for my theory of him being too old to play a full match.

There's been a suggestion that James was sold specifically to engineer this situation. Still not clear why this special dispensation was granted though, apart from it being Ronaldo and Nan United of course.

He's quite simply the best player in the world. Potentially the greatest of all time. Immense in every facet of the game. And to be moving to the world's toughest league at 36. Wow. Don't exactly love the guy....but fair play.

I could see him dragging United to the Prem title this season. I think he's still that good and will have the personality to demand more from the players around him. Messi the artist and Ronaldo the machine. I always favoured the artist, but if Ronaldo brings silverware to Utd, then he may well eclipse Messi. Fecking hate United.
