I really do feel we are judging Vieira too early especially as we are not past the window yet.

If anyone has been judging Vieira adversely it has passed me by as I haven't noticed. In fact most people have been positive

History don't count for much. He's playing like a donkey at the moment. If he doesn't improve, I absolutely expect Olise/Eze to challenge him for a spot.[/quote]

This is precisely how it SHOULD be. Otherwise what's the point of having a squad?

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

There were a few people after the Watford game claiming that this was another FdB fiasco.

You are, though, quite right that most people seem to have been positive even if a few have been concerned at what they claim is his inexperience as a manager.

Big Difference. Vieira has been given money to implement the tactics and future of the club.FdB Wasn't.

According to the injuries list for all clubs Olise may well be back in mid-September but he haas never played Premier League football so even if he takes to it like a duck to water we won't see any proper play from him until at least the end of October as he slowly gets match fit.
The Eze update is still dated May '21.
To me his injury is a real worry - he certainly won't be playing this year but is it a career finishing issue - I do hope not for his sake.
On injuries - Nathan Ferguson is also ruled out indefinitely and I just have this feeling that he will never play for us at all - sad.

How on earth Ferguson got through our sign on medical is beyond me. I wouldn’t be surprised if he hood-winked our medical team a bit who fell hook line and sinker for it.

He was clearly injured whilst still at West Brom. It was probably his tread mill tests at the medical that made a bad injury even worse!

The beatings will stop when morale improves.

Further big difference: PV clearly has a good relationship with his players; they speak well of him; he chuckles when an overambitious move founders;Damo had to be restrained when 'discussing tactics' with FdeB.

Where Olise, is concerned, if he is not back in full training it will be weeks yet. The biggest worry with him would be if this shoulder doesn’t respond naturally, it will be surgery, and the weeks could be months.
A bleak outlook, but if he isn’t in the mix soon it can only mean the injury is a really troublesome one.

Shoulder??? I had heard it’s his back. Can you enlighten us on his injury? Sounds concerning.

He DIDN'T get through the medical. He was sent back to Baggies and we took him on a free at the end of his contract knowing the situation. He had an operation on his knee (before joining us if I remember correctly) and made a good recovery and was training with the U23s but then got a similar injury to Eze but not as bad apparently. He's been very unlucky.

Both he and Eze are ahead of schedule apparently and could well be back early November.

Some interesting footage from the latest squad training session on Palace TV.

Thought I recognised someone other than Olise hanging around.
