In all fairness if this guy was any good why would Scummerpool be selling him .

You could probably say this about any club and player.

Only the ones for sale my friend. He is a bit part player being kept out of the starting line up by better players the same as benteke was . I dont think he would do any better than benteke .

No more players from the bin dippers please. If they let them go, they tend to be past their best.

Our forward options consist of Mateta and Benteke... Virtually any striker is what we need... And Origi is better than both of them.

LOL.

You're having a laugh. Not fit to tie Benteke's laces.

Please no! I though we were supposed to be improving the squad. Origi is not the answer.

In dog beers I’ve only had one.

Really?? Over the last 4 seasons in the Prem:

Benteke 101 app - 16 goals
Origi 75 app - 14 goals

And one of those seasons Origi only made 1 appearance and his appearances are mainly off the bench.

Cmon... Get real.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Last season Big Ben scored 10 in 30 games.

Origi is playing in a far better team who create much more chances and featured in only 9 games scoring 0.

I would also like to point out Benteke has more assists as well.

This is comparing both players in the Prem for their best seasons

Benteke
30 games - 10 goals (CPFC)
36 games - 15 goals (CPFC)
29 games - 9 goals (LIV)
29 games - 13 goals (AV)
26 games - 10 goals (AV)
34 games - 19 goals (AV)

Origi
28 games - 4 goals (LIV)
12 games - 3 goals (LIV)
34 games - 7 Goals (LIV)
16 games - 5 goals (LIV)

Lets compare apples to apples here. Last season Origi played 182 mins, compared to Benteke's 1819 mins.

So its hardly fair to compare output really is it?

I wonder how many Origi minutes are coming on simply to give Salah 10mins rest?

He's a decent player, who cant get in one of the most potent attacks in world football. Its also worth noting, that when Salah got injured he stepped up and scored 2 against Barca in the CL semi's, and another in the final. So he's no muppet.

Benteke has largely started because we have no other options.

I would say his goal scoring form at the end of last season and in preseason has a lot to do with that too. The fact is Bentenke has proved himself to be a top class striker (albeit with a few years in the wilderness!) in his career and Origi is a career benchwarmer. The money Liverpool would want would unlikely represent a worthwhile risk.

at Villa.
to be fair to Origi, he hasn't had that 'opportunity'
being a big fish in a small pond, it's a lot easier to stand out.
Origi has tried to make it in one of the biggest striking ponds out there atm.

reckon he'd do alright here.

The fact he hasn't proven himself good enough to start for Liverpool doesn't mean he's not good enough for us, but the fact he has never proven himself worthy of being a starter for any PL club means he is not worth the money Liverpool will likely ask (I would imagine at least 20m based on previous history). That was my point.

I do think we need a better striker btw, I just think Origi is too big of a risk when we could probably get Edouard for the same money and he has a fantastic goal-scoring record.

But with Ediuard there is also the risk that a) he's scored lot of goals in a poor league and b) does seem to have an attitude.
