I hope we turn out to be the Carpathian. Originally posted by silvertop
If true, Watford are bookies' favourites to finish bottom so I can understand Hughes' desire not to be on the Titanic. Again. But we are also predicted to go down. A jump from the Titanic to the Lusitania? Does insider football nouse suggest players and their agents do not agree with the betting odds and the so called ITK pundits predicting doom?

In fairness, there isn't a club in the league he has half a chance of playing for who don't have half a chance of going down. His level is Newcastle, Southampton, Palace, Burnley, Brentford, Watford, Norwich, maybe Wolves. He wouldn't play regularly for Everton, West Ham, Leeds, Leicester etc. with the options they have. Even in that group you have Ruben Neves, Joe Willock, Ward-Prowse, Cantwell and a couple of others who'd be deemed superior to him.

Wasn't in the Huddersfield side today that got thumped by Fulham. Whether that's a sign he's leaving or maybe injured I don't know.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Interesting one this given the rumour linking us with Will Hughes...are we in for both ? According to someone purporting to be ITK, the Hughes deal is going ahead.... Alan Nixon, who despite working for the Sun, seems to be pretty pally with Dougie and has the inside track on some bits due to their relationship, said that it was either or for Hughes or O'Brien. I like Hughes in that he reminds me a bit of Michael Hughes, good on the ball but also a little terrier too. Not going to set the world alight but solid and a bit more composed on the ball. I think, given our needs, Hughes is the more likely of the two if we can get it done, as we need someone who can play now, whereas O'Brien is likely going to be much more raw and one for the future in comparison. I have always thought Hughes looked like the Albino from Me, Myself and Irene though.
