He's just entering the last year of his contract which is always an indicator that the selling club are willing to sell. Agreed... But I'd be very surprised if we have offered £25m for an unproven Prem striker in the last year of his contract. I hope we have made an offer but not at that amount.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

Armstrong featured in 17 PL games at Newcastle, didn't score but he was only 16/17 at the time and they were bit-part appearances.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Adam Armstrong (Rumour)' by becky Saints were cr@p without Ings last season, so they might be desperate enough to push the boat out on this one. As it stands I actually think we're a more attractive proposition if the player has to choose between us, Norwich and Southamoton, but do we have 20m+ for a striker? Maybe if we send Mateta back we do.

Beat me to it. These days when we are linked with a player, I check Wiki. He has been through the England academy system clocking up quite a few caps at every level and is still young. He meets the type of player we are genuinely bidding for this window (praise be!). However, are we likely to go for him, given we were close to sealing a deal for a mystery non-European striker..?

20m plus Blackburn are asking the mind boggles, Massive risk in my eyes untried and untested at Premiership level. Better options with Premiership experience are available sorry to say. Please name them as ones who are available and likely to come to Palace and will fit into our new model. £20M is reasonable for a young English striker who has worked his way through the England and Newcastle academy who scored roughly a million goals in the Champ last season and won the PFA fans player of the season award. Even in today's deflated market. The only down sides are: he is a northern lad and may be put off by having to live in the capital; Southampton can probably outbid us; and £20M is still a lot of dough for us especially given how much we have already spent.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Adam Armstrong (Rumour)' by becky I think saints need him more than us and will pay over the odds, like Villa have done for Ings. They have the funds and are now desperate 10 days before the season starts. This smacks the Bats deal when we met the release clause only for Chelsea to activate it a day later
