Last season when PvA returned from injury but couldn't oust Mitchell he was apparently on the phone to Clinton Morrison complaining that he wasn't playing. That enthusiasm to be out there on the pitch has its charm, but he always seemed to lack intelligence in his defensive work often relying on his pace to bale him out, plus he was a bit of a softie.

He'll do well at a team where he spends more time in the opposition half as there are not many full-backs who make well-time runs as well as PvA. Mitchell needs to really step up now and show he is not just a solid defender but also one who can get forward.

I wish him all the best. Always liked PVA, good goal scoring record for a non penalty taking full back, yes he was caught out a few times on the defensive side of his game, but then if he was solid at the back he would have gone years ago for multi millions.

Over to you Tyrick, time to step up.

Good luck Patrick in the future.
Defending not always the best but liked his overlapping runs which created chances and goals, an exciting player.

Great free kick against Newcastle witnessed live amongst other goals.

Seemed to enjoy his time at the club and supporters.

Good luck in the future.

was a better finisher than some of the strikers!
however somewhat iffy in defence.
Enjoyed him at Palace, good luck to him.

A real pity we couldn't persuade him to stay. I wish him well in his future endeavours.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

AS he showed for the Dutch team at the Euros. All the best Patrick.

Always liked the Glueman, entertaining to watch. If we were in a Cup final tomorrow, I'd start him over Mitchell. Best of luck.

Great player and servant overall for the club. Always loved his attacking displays for us which counterbalanced with frustration of him often getting caught out of position defensively... The gift and the curse!

Wish him all the best in his future!
