the Russell Crow movie is good. The whistleblower.

Basically cigarette companies using pharmacology to make their product more addictive.

The evidence says that nicotine doesn't have many competitors for addictiveness so won't have to do much.
Ironically in liquid form it's also up their as a poison as well.
Good old fags have made the grade although I do think taylors are worse due to the salt peter in the paper which keeps them alight. I smoke roll ups but maybe I'm wearing my rose tinted specs being a pariah.

The thing is, although you are correct about it being addictive, it is not nicotine that kills smokers. Nicotine is similar to caffeine inasmuch as it's a stimulant. If you were to drink a neat shot of either it would likely kill you. I think that opiates are far more addictive and lethal, and there are many forms of those. Some legal and many prescribed.

True but it's still the hook that keeps millions smoking. Nobody takes issue with someone just slapping on a nicotine patch. If they actually modified tobacco plants to remove nicotine but kept smoking legal that might have its uses. As it stands they're combining something addictive with the smoking of various other damaging chemicals.

Certainly. What has happened especially in America with big pharma getting millions hooked on opiates (that they then go looking for from dealers once they are too far gone and their prescribed supply is cut off) is shocking. They no doubt have legitimate uses, but are instead handed out like Smarties.

The point that you are missing is that it is the carcinogens in tobacco plants that kills smokers, not the nicotine. As with vaping being safer than smoking. You get the nicotine without the other multitude of poisons.

Excuse the bad format please...

Ahh yes, you're right there. Some people get 'popcorn lung' I believe and maybe there should be more regulation of vape liquids to ensure uniformity and standard, but I certainly agree that in principle it's likely much safer and healthier to vape than smoke.
