I totally understand your sentiments.
I envisage some loan deals.

I think that should figure in how this shortage of bodies is dealt with.
It would be nice if they contained an option to buy at an established price. We seem interested in Gallagher, pity if it happened only to see him then sold to someone else for more money than we can afford.

I think that we have identified several players for key positions, which explains why we have all these rumours. This limits the selling club’s ability to hold us to ransom. We will needed to bring in 2 CBs - we have one. I’m confident we will get the other - let’s just hope they gel…

I do have a concern that we have lost a great deal of experience and their know-how was pivotal in ensuring we survived in the PL.

With the headlong rush to acquire young talented prospects there is always a danger that their lack of experience at top-level could prove somewhat costly unless we also bring in players who have ploughed their furrows in decent top flights.

We did need to reduce the age of the squad and the wage bill.It is a question of balance.

Justin Hayward and John Lodge would no doubt agree with you Willo

At 25 Anderson is reasonably experienced and has had the best part of a season in the PL.

Anderson really impressed me whenever I saw him play for Fulham, but 25m seems too much.

I may be thinking of someone else at that price, although Transfermarkt have him valued at £20m.

It is a lot but again it could be a decent investment provided he stays injury free.

He's a leader - captained Fulham even though he was on loan. Crucially he falls in the age and experience bracket we need - there is just about no one in the mid twenties bracket. Riedewald is just about the only one I can think of off the top of my head. Looking forward we will need a few in that bracket going forward as we are still heavy in the late twenties brigade.

Would think 20 mill a fairer price and one I can see working out if we can swing it.

If you scroll down it states his current club as Brighton.

Tit for tat?

Reports from Fabrizio Romano that is now very close, in the early hours of this morning.

We are having the best window I can ever remember, this would be a fantastic signing.

This lad is one of those players, who every year when a team goes down, you think 'we should be going after him'.

It is so refreshing to see what appears to be a very well thought out recruitment plan coming off.

Well done, Dougie.

It's not done until he's in the shirt and it could be between him and Kabak still, just reading reports, but either way we are making moves in the right direction.

Doubt we'll be paying as much as they previously wanted for him.
Not only has Covid hit French clubs hard but their TV deal has collapsed meaning they have no money and deals are there to bd done for players now.
