Yes he would be good to have in the squad as back-up at the right price, but he's no longer a starter, so I think the Club were correct to offer him reduced terms.
It's clear that the club are making a significant investment in youth and don't want to waste any more money on over-inflated wages for players who are past their best.

Thank Andros, and remember, we'll always have Brighton.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

In interviews Andros has been saying with his next move he wants to be playing, so if that is the case then that suggests Benitez sees him as part of his first-team plans. The two of course know each other from Newcastle, but Andros is not at his prime anymore. The deal reeks of Everton being broke and trying to see out the pandemic until they can refill their coffers, especially if the Demarai Gray deal is true too. There are rumours Andros will only get a one-year deal with the club having an option of one more year; if Palace were that desperate to keep him I'm sure they could have offered something much better, but if the Cahill rumours are also true it seems Parish is no longer willing to pay big money to the older players. I'm sure Andros will put in a shift, but you never really felt he was playing within himself last season, so I'd be surprised if we ended up having any huge regrets.

Think he is probably under-rated by a lot of Palace fans. Provides accurate crosses and has played at International level which is not to be sniffed at Good with youngsters esp remember him helping wan bissaka

I'd be underwhelmed as an Everton fan, and quite frankly worried if this is the type of signing they are making. I like Andros and see what he brings to the team, but lets be honest, he's past his best. He doesn't have the pace of a modern day winger. He's a hard worker which suited the Roy model, Vieira seems to be a bit more about creativity and pace from what I'm reading - not sure if he'd fit. Andros is a good defensive winger, if that makes sense. Was telling my mate yesterday that I expect he'll turn up at somewhere like Norwich or Burnley, so I'm surprised he's going to a so called 'bigger' club. I too would have liked him for one more season but I won't be losing any sleep over it. He's been a good servant to the club and I wish him well. Can't imagine he'll get much game time at Everton though.

Of those out of contract, was the the one I wanted to stay the most, but the salary cost is a strong consideration and if the cost was more than his output, then fair enough. Very solid contribution to us surviving in the PL in his time with us, so good on him.

A very good player to have in and around the squad. We can’t afford to have just squad players on his wages. He was offered a deal more in line with his contribution, he decided not to take it. We now have that money available for someone, who is hungry and has desire to play for us.
