Disagree with all of this. I’m backing Luka. Multiple players have spoken of his leadership qualities. He’s bang in the thick of it every week and I’m hoping working with PV will reinvigorate his form.

Rather than have him in a sulk because nobody would see him as good value at his age, we would need to get him back on song. If Vieira puts an arm around him and says he wants him as captain we may see him at his best. Wait what? A player that had publicly expressed his desire to leave our club multiple times? That makes sense.... Wilf would literally be my last choice for captain. He shouldn’t even be playing for us, let alone captain.

One of the reasons I'm glad we're getting a new manager is to determine the best captain. Although I'm not a Luka fan, I trusted Roy and yet... So if PV thinks Luka's the man, good for him. If PV sees something different, I'm looking forward to the change.

Can't believe some people are advocating Wilf to be captain. Would be an awful choice. Sadly I don't think we have had a really good captain since Mile left. Cahill, if he stays, which I doubt would be a good choice. I think it will remain Luka. Really hope he regains some form under PV. Kouyate does captain his country and has close ties with PV but he seems quite quiet on the pitch to me.

A proper leader would have resigned it. Actions speak louder than words, and him attending that showed an incredible level of selfishness.

The captain needs to be level headed, the spokesperson for the team when the ref is trying to sort a dispute out. Not the guy shouting and screaming at the ref that he keeps getting fouled and is getting no protection.

regards Wilf my point is that the added responsibility might just bring an end to his petulant side and force him to lead by example. Luka has not been a driving force for 2 years now but if Jimmy Mc is fit and back playing regularly he'd be a good choice too.
