He is very far from being a t***! What he had to say was dynamite and will likely have far-reaching consequences.

I don't agree with much of his politics, but his disdain of the party system and especially the upper levels of the Tory party, I share unreservedly.

His descriptions of the way BJ thinks and works was so cutting, yet had the ring of truth plastered all over it, as we all have seen some of this for ourselves.

Not Mr Nice Guy for sure. Slimy and creepy, yes, but also relevant.

I have long believed that it was Corbyn who "got Brexit done" by being quite as bad as he was, and BJ got there by default and the boredom of the electorate. DC pretty much confirmed that.

on this point we will have to agree to differ - he's no outsider, he's part of the swamp. and it's a massive over-simplification to blame the 'party system' for throwing up cr*p individuals, they will always climb like Cummings. Labour and Tory are both two parties disguised as one, a different electoral system (i.e. PR) might encourage more authenticity and would be preferable to having a Cummings-led think tank full of elitist weirdos cr*pping on the public while believing they're doing them a favour. He is a tw*t and what gives it away is that he now acts appalled at bojo's lack of integrity while he had no problem with it before he was sacked. He doesn't seem that keen on Brexit anymore either - he's just a psycho and it's all a game to him, nothing he says about bj will make any difference, like Trump bj knows how to appeal to the c*nt element, reviving the economy at the expense of coffin cheaters will appeal as a realistic bottom-line policy that can't be made explicit.

Although I suspect that he is telling the truth, what credibility has he (Cummings) got? He knew how bad BJ was going to be back in July 2019 (probably before) but doesn't mention anything until after he has been sacked in November 2020.

I disagree with Wisbech, I can't see there being far-reaching consequences. There should be but what Cummings has alleged wont really surprise anyone.

I think this could work well for the Tories, younger voters (less likely to vote for them) will be put off in greater numbers than older Tories who will continue to vote for them, despite BJ seemingly being happy to kill them off.

So he openly admits to trying to stage a coup against a democratically elected PM yet people are lauding him for his honesty and the importance of his words. All I see is an embittered advisor who potentially committed treason. Bringing down a government for personal gain at the expense of the country surely must have severe consequences .

Amazing to think that Johnson, who is happy for many voters to die, will nevertheless expect their votes.

And get them.

As someone who has lost someone to Covid I personally think this odious little s*** should crawl back under the rock he came from. He could test his eyes on the way.

History may not remember Boris kindly but I doubt it will remember Cummings at all, but him sitting there like a faux preaching God having been part of the swamp is hypocrisy at its finest.

I find what he is doing far more insulting to those who have lost someone than a Government trying to balance multiple opinions all of whom think they are absolutely 100% correct.

It’s extroidinary, that this piece of excrement is only now being held to account because he appears to bite the hand that fed him.
He always fitted this description , so what’s changed if it’s a case of trust.?. The electorate never put their trust in the man, Boris, and his party did, obviously they had complete access to his brand of crap,.Nothing should excuse that, but of course they are working at it.

Nasty piece of work. I'm astonished people like him are allowed to work in the public sector without all the confidentiality restrictions imposed on civil servants. Irrespective of what Boris may or may not have said he needs to keep his mouth shut.

'Anybody who thinks brexit was a good idea must have a screw loose'.

Highly enjoyable, and accurate.

Agree, he is a nasty piece of work. However, what is truly astonishing is the influence he clearly held with the Governments whole approach being devised/driven by him.

What is also incredible is the lack of judgement of BJ in being associated with him in any way. Unfortunately, given the daily shambles associated with the current administration on so many levels, it is not hard to imagine that an awful lot of what he says is true- especially Johnson's rank unfitness for office.

If it wasnt so serious, this would be fit only for comedy.. we have a man for months on end the main acting adviser to the PM, thought by them to be a genius . Now being only seen as a bitchy little prat.
He always was , this is hilarious.
I’m just wondering if any other party will take him on a free.

As someone described him on the radio earlier today - a narcissistic megalomaniac!
For those who hate Boris it is manna from heaven but in anyone's eyes this is a dangerous man - acting like a scorned ex-lover or employee.
What he is saying should not be allowed - you just cannot have people spilling the beans on what goes on in Government - sorry - bang out of order.
I am sure that a tone of stuff gets said behind closed doors and some of it will be outlandish and not for public ears and that is the way it should be.
This will stifle democracy - the man is a turd of the highest order.

What he actually said was:

“I think anyone who says they are sure about questions like that has got a screw loose, whether you’re on the Remain side, or our side.”

Maybe not quite as enjoyable.
