Football is suffering from overexposure on TV,i it seems to be on all the time. It’s impossible to have every game living up to expectations.
Years ago the Euros and World Cups were eagerly anticipated as shown on TV, now just another set of games

I don't have Sky or BT so I don't get to watch much telly football. Perhaps that's why I still appreciate the novelty of having footy on every day during a major tournament.

I'm quite enjoying the Euros.

I think it's too early to judge the tournament - let's wait and see how the knock-out games pan out. If we get some crackers then the group matches will be forgotten. In fact I think the semis and final often define a tournament.

I recall USA 94 World Cup which was generally very entertaining up until the last 4 stage and then we had two dreadful semis and an awful final in which Italy were at their very negative worst, completely destroying the match as a spectacle. Sadly that's what I now most remember about USA 94.

I think you'll find what is secretly killing your enjoyment of the game for you is the packaging, the commodity its been turned into.
The adverts, the gestures, the messages, the causes, the sponsors, the processes, the red tape, the frills, the list is endless and it's vomit inducing. Strip all this away and you've got pure football again.

True. I tend to switch on just before the game starts, put the kettle on at half time, and then switch off when the final whistle goes, thereby minimising my exposure to all the frippery.

I still haven't watched a single game after falling asleep during the tournament opener. It saddens me to say it, but I've found better things to do.

FdB certainly showed his tactical ineptitude once they went down to 10 men.

This side of thr draw is wide open!
