If the ground is redeveloped for housing, which would appear highly likely, then I can imagine the local residents will fight tooth and nail to stop any plans. Used to live very close by a few years back. Alan Pardew started out here they also built a new stand with the proceeds of that Chester game.

Possibly some good news. The rumour is that Whyteleafe has signed a 4 year deal to carry on playing at Church road. The old club has been disbanded and a New AFC Whyteleafe has been formed to take it's place. So Fingers crossed

I was at Church Road only recently watching an FA Cup tie.The ground needs a bit of sprucing up and I understand there are plans to install a new 'Plastic' pitch. Edited by Willo (17 Aug 2021 9.57am)

So Fingers crossed As a new club, AFC Whyteleafe will have to start in the Surrey South Eastern Combination, equivalent of Step 8. They will apply to the FA to join the NLS next season at Step 6. The're looking for players & coaches who can help them to do that.

David Gold Lives Just up the Hill from The factory in Caterham. He campaigned to get the Caterham by-pass improved as there were so many accidents closing the road which affected Anne Summers. Every year he has a couple of open days at his house where you can wander around his gardens to raise money for charity, It's quiet funny seeing him serving teas.

I went to one of his garden open days. He had the original FA cup on display which I think he had bought at a football memorabilia auction. He was doing a book signing in his garage, which was full of WHU videos.
