As I flicked through the cricket pages in the paper I read that Robinson played well yesterday.

So glad his youthful Tweets didn't upset his play. Good for him!

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Shame on you. Us oldies were brought up in an era of football in Winter and Cricket in summer.

I wonder who it is that goes through peoples' Tweets from 8 or more years ago with a fine tooth comb in order to find dirt.

Do they feel fulfilment when that eureka moment arrives and they come up with something? How sad

I think this is the mentality of journalism nowadays. When you see a politician interviewed on the telly, the interviewer is more interested in catching them out (sticking with the cricket theme) to make themselves look good, than gaining any information. It's blatantly obvious.

The worse one is that Charlie Stayt on BBC. I'd not tire of hitting him with a cricket bat.

ECB is so very woke, poor lad.

If i were him, id tell the ECB to do one & go & play cricket elsewhere & enjoy himself as well as earn a shed load of dosh to boot.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

After making those shameful comments, I assume that he has spent the subsequent years atoning for them and doing all he can in the name of racial harmony. If so, I am sure he will be given the benefit of the doubt.

Note that his comments were aimed at the most active groups in cricket plus the group that cricket is trying hardest to bring on. So of course it's a big issue.

I see no reason why a Government Minister should make a comment on this issue, in the same way as I doubt the ECB will make a statement on fisheries policy any time soon.

Do you just let it grow out of your head naturally or do you shave around the edges?

Kinda strange how Maple is all fire & brimstone regarding this Cricketer, but just having a quick flick through the IS Schoolgirl want's to come home thread. He is almost has rubber man contortionist logic why someone who has pissed off to join a terrorist group should be allowed back in the country.
I'm guessing that stupid past comments are bad, but beheading people is merely Meh'

I remember fondly the effort and time he put into defending Qatar because, despite the consequence still standing on the books, it hadn't actually murdered anyone for homosexuality for decades.

He was actually criticising us for having a go at them.
