We love animals as they are loyal, non judgmental and always give a warm welcome.

Completely the opposite to the missus, although she does have a cold nose.

As for the perpetrator, public stoning would not be harsh enough IMO.

stresses me out, the nastyness.
i'm not one to fawn over dogs but the wickedness of some 'owners'..

i cultivate a lot of small birds in the garden, feed, water, bird boxes etc.
gives me a good vibe.

(there was a cheap joke possible regarding fat balls, but ive avoided it)

The pets we love are intellectually no different from the pigs we torture and eat.

Just saying...

Anything that ends up as food is given less consideration and emotional attachment. Not as though that's right of course; it's clearly hypocritical to an extent. We're likely at a transition phase in terms of our ideas about, and indeed the act of eating animals (in part due to alternatives that technology will bring in).

Beyond that as consumers we're 'in the chain' of various acts of misery (child labour etc), but turn a blind eye to it. It's still a special kind of psycho that directly and intentionally harms animals for nothing more than the sadistic thrill of it, which appears to be the case here.

Invasion of the body snatchers stuff going on here!

Just kidding, good that the poster cares about nature and wildlife. People often fail to recognise that we're just another part of the natural world. Often as destructive as we are impressive.

Not wanting to detract from the seriousness of this topic, but that has really made me laugh.

poorly worded by me.
I encourage a variety of small birds (tits, robins mainly) to nest, plenty of boxes & feed / water.
very satisfying to see lots of the little buggers bombing about the tress n bushes.
get a few woodpeckers & chaffinches
(the gulls can feck off)
