According to the Washington Post until he can earn a work permit we wont be seeing him in the UK.

Still we need to take a punt of players like this.

Good point unless he has a UK grandparent I think he has to make appearances for and in the USA.

- Senior and youth international appearances

- Quality of the selling club, based on the league they are in, league position and progression in continental competition

- Club appearances, based on domestic league and continental competition minutes

My guess is we will never see him play in a Palace shirt, still it's a one year deal so low risk.

Perhaps....I've seen his highlight reel though and I have to say I was impressed.

Interesting bit on his wiki page that he has been on a month long trial at Palace and notified the MLS that he did not wish to play professional football in the MLS because of the trial at Palace.

I'm assuming there is a high possibility of him gaining international clearance as I doubt Cpfc/Parish or whom ever would bother if it wasn't a likely scenario.

He also represented the US national team at U19

He must have some ability for them to go through the trouble of doing so.

I wish him the best, hopefully all his team mates warm to him and fingers crossed it turns out well for him.

Badger, unfortunately to be able to work in the UK though UK Grandparentage only applies to Commonwealth Citizens

Very complicated. International appearances count but only if your country is in top 75? or number of club appearances in higher regarded leagues. Sorry this is very basic information and could be completely wrong, it is a minefield in,ess you are already an established International

Sorry a strange signing for me especially as only 1yr so I think the American owners had their say in this one and palace taking a punt on him, not sure if we’re see this one in the 1st squad

I hope I am wrong because god knows we need an attacking midfielder however the first question is will he get a UK work permit as at present he doesn't qualify so he will have to go out on loan.

As we only signed him for a year suppose he does well the loan club can simply buy him.

As for the highlights I agree he looks good because he has time and space to score we don't know if he can create that space at PL level.

Why? Is there an option to buy in the loan agreement? I would doubt it and even if he isn't able to come to the UK he's still our player, surely.

Also he wants ot play in the PL so he may well have his contract extended with us until he does qualify and if he fails to qualify he is unlikely to be good enough for our league.
