The only time I was ever in Bognor it wasn't for very long, I just remember a rather grand bus stop on the promenade as a kid, but something tells me they'd have some excellent fish and chips there, it's just a hunch but it might be worth checking out.

The Coast Cafe is great not Fish n Chip shop.

Harry Ramsdens opposite Worthing pier. (Two chip shops 50m away into town which are ok can be hit and miss)

Sealane Cafe west out of worthing is nice but gets very busy.

Then in Ferring The Bluebird Cafe very good very popular gets crowded traditional Cafe.

I have visited both the Sea Lane Cafe in Goring and the Bluebird in Ferring.Both very popular and I enjoyed my experiences at these establishments.

Harry Ramsden, facing the Pier, has been put out of its misery (pleased to say)
its now a fish restuarant a bit more upmarket than Harrys was.
theres a 2 chippys just to the side of it.
As others have mentioned, Chipwick is very good, but can involve a fair que.
If youre driving away from the front, my local chippy in Goring is very good

crabshack has a good rep, but proper sea food not a chippy.
fairly spoilt for chippys down here (& curry houses !)
Worth a visit is the 50s style retro cafe in Marine gardens (facing the kids playground on the west end of sea front)

Now I know I’m going to get some abuse, especially living in Croydon, but I find Worthing and all those other places along that coast utter sh@te holes.

Full of chavs on mobility scooters with a can of larger in one hand and fag in the other. Just don’t see the appeal myself.

There are some areas along the coast which are far from salubrious, but in my 'Neck of the woods' there are three private estates with mansions worth millions and celebrities have been seen on the local beach.
