For years I always wanted an Alfa of some kind. My father had a black GTV sports hatch in the late 70's and brown turbo Bell & Colville upgrade one in the early 80's. I'm not a classic enthusiast. Don't want to get my hands dirty! And I don't much like the current batch of Guilias and Guiliettas. The Brera was an attractive car. But there's one car I'm more likely to get just for sheer fun.
My cousin used to belong to a super car club and he has an Aston Martin. He went with his wife on a club trip to the south of France and the other cars on the tour were your usual suspects...a yellow gull wing Lambo, a silver McClaren, two Ferraris etc. In fact, he says his Aston paled into mediocrity compared to the others.
But in this area of France super cars are really quite common. They're everywhere. So they all pull up in the sun outside the hotel and the terrace is packed with diners. Nobody bats an eyelid. But then one car separate from the club pulls up and the diners all stand up, cheer, wolf whistle and generally make a big fuss.
It was a Caterham 7.

I had an Alfa 159 that I regretted selling but I do like the look of the new Giulia - the veloce is well priced and quite quick...

An original BMW 8 series. That works.

Bought one 6 years ago, like painting the Severn Bridge - repairing it is a continual process. It’s like the crazy girl you date in your late teens - just when you think everything is ok it blows up for no reason. A quick flash of boob though (pop up headlights) and your sucked back in again!

For the pure engineering (of the time) I would go for the first edition of the McLaren F1.

For craftspersonsip, it would be an Aston martin.

I'd only be driving either for 24 hours. Before I died in an accident or have my driving licence revoked.

I disengage, I turn the page.

I was watching Mike Brewer Trading Up yesterday and he bought and sold an 8 series. It's still a lovely looking car as is the new version

Partial to a Mustang for some reason! so it'd probably be a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 for me.

I know the one -

Highly unrealistic though as you never saw him filling up the car with petrol despite appearing to drive over 20 miles!

I owned one for a few years.

Originally the Lotus 7 and when Colin Chapman no longer wanted to make it a Lotus dealer, Caterham Car Sales, bought all his blueprints and the rights to build it. But they couldn't use the Lotus badge so came up with the novel idea of calling it the Caterham. Not quite the same. Mine had a Lotus badge on it, as did loads of others.

And, you're right, it was a head turner. And bloody quick.

I would like a Bentley S2 Continental Sports Saloon...

You're asking me what it's all about, and I can't tell you because I don't know what's going on myself.
