Yeah, because voting for Labour, who hate them, is such a better option for them.

Its not that they should vote labour or anyone else, its more they should be calling out the eton boys stealing all the ppe shekles, but they dont, thats the shame. Imagine if corbyn had got in, and did the same with the ppe, do you think they wouldn"t be a tad angry?

Your rattling on about less than 2% of what this has cost. How have you been affected by that investment?
I beleive you and your mother got a jab which should protect you.
Why not have a moan about the tory early investment in vaccines which 'could' have gone badly wrong financially. Because the ppe investment didn't go smoothly or how you feel it should or shouldn't have gone and to whom is a massive headache to you for some reason. Get over it,lives were invariably saved because of the ppe investment, does that not make it worth it?

You keep going on about Eton and how the wealthy get the best positions and access to all the advantages.

Yeah ok, I get it....but it's constant, you can't change the record. A question could be don't you think you're being a bit unrealistic?

What's the alterative?

Whatever system is created the people at the top will abuse it....power and money corrupts. That's how it works. Left/right it makes no difference.

I have a friend who is married to a Cuban woman. She has a large nice apartment in Havana and a car and travels abroad. She is quite high up in the Communist Party and is basically an MP / delegate.

In other words she is part of the elite the ordinary Cubans do not have her luxury lifestyle.

Yep and her kids would go to the best schools and I bet the Cubans in relative poverty....which would be most in a communist system....look at her and moan about it.

But being communism if they were overheard or told on they will get beaten up and throw in jail for the privilage.

Instead of complaining about inequalities in human society that have always existed and will continue to exist within any system ever we should focus upon what's actually better for us and achievable.

The number one concern within society should be the reduction of corruption and the maximization of meritocracy.

If we want the best standard of living for the least able within society, which is those with the least going for them, then only a meritocratic system has any chance of affording their safety net.

We should be uncompromising on meritocracy. You should demand that only the brightest minds get the most important jobs and have systems in place that only reward competence......Otherwise to use a metaphor, a day might come that we walk a bridge that comes tumbling down around us.....because the person who designed it wasn't the very best available.

It's no different to demanding the best players in your team means you're more likely to win your matches.....tokenism for whatever reason means you're eventually getting relegated.

Any politics or ideology that reduces meritocracy for 'social justice' or any other BS stores up trouble for the future and gives a step up to competing nations.

Capitalism gives the best incentives for meritocracy but it suffers from corruption and cronyism which weaken it.

So Eton should exist.....and it should only have the best minds within it independent of wealth or 'justice'. It should only have IQ access....though we know that wealth will buy the best advantages.

The far bigger problem is that our society is moving further away from meritocracy not closer and that's a disaster.

In a nutshell, pretty much how I see it. If everything was truly based on meritocracy then all the idiots from both the top (there by wealth alone) and the bottom (given jobs to tick boxes), will be left out and those who deserve will be in place.

Agreed.

Our problem is that the elites want to shape the system to control it and insulate them from failure and the 'progressives' want impossible utopias based upon 'equality'.

They are both disfigurements.

Uncompromising on meritocracy but only if they’re from certain European countries.
