Zaha and Bolasie on the wings, what a time that was and what a player he was. I agree that we haven't replaced him, definitely up there with the best business we've done in the transfer market

Still love Bolasie and second any sentiments wishing him luck. I remember under Pardew, I was at the Stoke away game where Chungy hit that brilliant last minute winner. That was a great moment but I distinctly remember Bolasie getting injured and thinking we were really going to miss him. I think we went 5th with that then after, without him, we won only two games in the rest of the season if my memory serves me correctly! Happy to be corrected.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Confirmed on Everton site that he is out on loan, hopefully he proves the Toffees wrong and regains some form.

Love Bolaise, met him in an airport lounge once, my son was wearing a CPFC sweatshirt and he was nice enough to offer to take pictures (even though he had his wife and kids with him). Top class player. When Wilf and him were running at defences they were petrified. He could make almost anyone look silly (as you mentioned, Erikson, but his move vs. Liverpool where he touched the ground was also fantastic). Unfortunately was terrible at defending, so the managers moved him up top and he lost his effectiveness. The deal for 28mm was a great piece of business. I can't remember who we used it on, could have been Benteke or Sakho. Both were good business in the first year then turned out to be wastes. Best of luck to him at Middlesbourough.

Lets not forget, replaced by Townsend, who is so one-footed he could not play on the left. Forced Wilf to switch wings. Scored a banger at City some time ago, done nothing since. At their respective peaks, not fit to lace Yannick's boots. I remember YB's interview on the eve of the Cup Final, he grew up in the area and was like a dog with 2 dicks. What I wouldn't give for someone with his enthusiasm now. Although Roy would probably have him back on the edge of our box. Good luck to you fella, thanks for all the entertainment, really hope it works out for you.

Remember going to watch us play Bristol City, think it was in the cup?, just after we signed him, and the whole City crowd singing "f*ck off Bolasie" I asked a mate who is this Bolasie bloke?

In is his time with us, we had some amazing days with both him and Wilf, doing their magic. Had Ledley (I think) scored at Spurs after that amazing Bolasie Flick around two players, it would have be the goal of the season. What people dont respect is why he left for Everton. His wages despite how good he was never changed from the deal he signed arriving from Bristol City. He was a reserve there but Dougies team spotted him. BUT he never got a wage rise and so many players were getting twice he was. If Palace really rated Yannick, they would have mid term raised his wage in parity with team mates. They didn't so he took a punt with Everton and got parity!! I personally state the board made the mistake as what should have happen and its rather like it now. Now Neil Warnock is taking a chance.. "On potentially signing Yannick Bolasie from Everton: He was going to go abroad, but we had a chat and I just said come and enjoy yourself for a couple of months, and it should be happening in the next 24 hours, hopefully." Good luck Yannick, thank you for cheering up Palace in your time with us, rather than this dreadful depressing Roy style of football we have now!! Warnock will get him enjoying his football again. What I loved about Bolasie, was a spell he had where he wasn't just fast and tricky, but he had a strength where opposition players would just bounce off him such was his athleticism and confidence. He was running games on his own. Very good days indeed. Been a while since we've had a player that could impose himself on a game like that and totally boss it week-on-week.

So yes no parity.. Interestingly he was on £4k per week and what a player he was for us!! Quality player no mid term increase took the piss... therefore the board did not value him, can you blame him for not being happy!! No player parity. read on: But Bolasie wants to boost his earnings to the same amount being paid to experienced defender Scott Dann. Palace signed Dann from Blackburn Rovers in 2014 and has gone on to become a regular in the first team. Bolasie impressed as the club won their battle against relegation last term. He has already been linked with Everton, Liverpool and West Brom due to his failure to sign a new contract. A club insider has revealed Bolasie is confident he will be paid £40,000-a-week elsewhere and wants Palace to agree to his terms. He went to Everton in Summer 2016 after the cup final year and was paid £75K per month. Less that 4 months are signing he did his cruciate.. so sad for an exciting player. Yes he did get a new deal at Palace but didnt get the parity..he wanted Originally posted by palace99
i love Yannick, one of my favourite Palace players, but he did get a decent pay rise so some of what you say is just wrong. When we signed him (for £350k plus 205% add on) he was in Bristol City reserves so his salary would have reflected that and our position at the time (bottom of the league). It was a 3 year contract. He was great for Everton initially, but unfortunately has never been the same since the terrible knee injury.

DO you even watch the Palace games yes he favors his left but can put in a cross with the right one as well. Regarding him not able to play on the left wing that was a rumor again watch back his career he has played in other positions no problem. The system is wrong for a lot of these players he spends a lot of the time defending we don't play the quick counter attacking football we once did when the likes of Bolasie was at the club Roy likes slow and boring no risk football. Bolasie wasn't that great of a player he had some moments because he was quick but like Wilf no real end product when these players have to change game or start to lose the pace they are poor Wilf is just the same. I remember him even stating he didn't know what he was doing at times this is why it hasn't worked out at clubs like Palace you can sort of get away with this to a point you step up no chance this is another reason why he keeps getting injured it's too much for him.

Good Memories of Yannick his cross for Wilf against the weed, His Semi final cup goal v Watford the hat trick v Sunderland . My best memory of him was Crystanbul when he skinned Glen Johnson and ran virtually the length of the pitch like a school kid in the playground. He was lightning fast and strong.
