Remember the Weed game earlier this season, peeps on here saying how well the weed played, why cant we?, well have a look at the table, only real concern i have is the age profile of our side, but even that is manageable there will be some bargains in the summer

I am.

It was this kind of overstated praise for Roy which has lead to some of my previous debates with yourself and Niello.

Ive realised that both of you are more realistic about his ability than to OP.

To be fair Tom, you’d love anyone that jumped on it. But I’ll give you your due, you are consistent.

Inter Milan, Liverpool, England.....it's not like Roy is a top manager or anything.

you want to go back to George Burley and hear his musings on lessons learned at Heart of Midlothian ?

Kayla did Anfield & Old Trafford

0-0 draw vs a bottom half team.

Roy’s team didn’t cost the millions that the other bottom half team cost, or even many of the other bottom half teams.

With Guiata, Cahill, Clyne, Meyer picked up on a free, and Zaha for next to nothing. We've done remarkably well in the transfer market.

Arsenal have done terribly. Lots of flops and an imbalanced squad. Heads should roll in that organisation.

Full cost of each 25-man squad in the Premier League
Manchester City - £810,870,000

Manchester United - £628,130,000
Chelsea - £577,100,000
Arsenal - £454,800,000
Liverpool - £454,250,000
Everton - £388,050,000
Tottenham Hotspur - £385,300,000
Leicester City - £317,450,000
Wolverhamton Wanderers - £241,980,000
Aston Villa - £229,350,000
West Ham United - £218,500,000
Newcastle United - £198,100,000
Southampton - £170,550,000
Brighton & Hove Albion - £159,100,000
Crystal Palace - £149,860,000
Sheffield United - £120,700,000
Leeds United - £120,300,000
West Bromwich Albion - £97,700,000

Palace will miss Roy when he decides to hang up his wings & Talons. But hopefully not for a few more years.

I won't and I'll be dancing all over the place when he goes. Cant stomach watching his style of football.

You're right, he was amazing at England and Liverpool!
Just check Roberto Carlos' opinion on him from his time at Inter.

Are you comparing our current ability to attract managers to the position we were in as a club 10 years ago, at the bottom of the Championship, with 6 senior players?

and Glen Johnson at Liverpool. This summed him up for me [Link]
He's half decent at keeping smaller clubs up by making them hard to beat sometimes, nothing more than that. His teams play the most appalling football.

When you can guide a squad costing under £150 million to beating teams costing over £600 million sharing the points with teams costing as Arsenal did £454million, or Spurs, £385million. Leicester a weakened side on the day but still an expensive squad. You must be doing something right.
That list in general shows you get what you pay for , that’s if you are not Arsenal. Or even Wolves and Newcastle..

If we had paid for the likes of Wan Bissaka and Zaha (what he's been worth after his first prem season) then we'd be just above Wolves in that list.

This so exciting football that some want would come at a price.

Who do you want in charge?

Think many would soon change their tune after our new expansive football led to a few defeats.

Without major investment, hardly likely to change in the short term.
