They are mostly on a gravy train, asset stripping and moving on from company to company within a few years after screwing things up. Rarely do you meet a CEO that cares unless it is their own business. Lots of problems in the business world and the reason why I started working for myself at the age of 35. No simple answer to it although I do like the John Lewis model which links workers pay to overall company performance. I suppose I’m a Conservative who likes some Labour policies, but I hate politics and politicians and believe it is down to business to get us out of the crap. Unfortunately I don’t think the business leaders are up to it either as they are mostly interested in feathering their own nests or shareholders pockets. Bit of a rant I know!

Ha, lets hope so mate!I don"t think it makes much difference whos in to be honest regarding me, Biden has already changed boris"s plan, before he even got in, that big butch boris breaking international law with his bestie don to give him a trade deal has gone, bojo had to treat the EU with more respect after, which suits me! We have a fairly balanced United States representation in our overseas bag I think, Maine on the left, Jim on the right,I think we will know if things under smokin Joe get serious! Get serious! You are going to see death abroad on an unimaginable scale. You will see cities crumbling with no investment. Blacks in jail in massive numbers, You will see trailer parks everywhere as the wealth is shared out and people lose homes and jobs. Your utopia has one flaw as our greatest ever leader said,

Let's put part of your idea to the test. If it was £5 entry to Selhurst, on the basis of 20 home games a season at capacity, the club would stand to make an income of £2.5m per year. It probably costs around £1m per year just to maintain the ground and training facilities and around £100k in staffing to stage each game (£2m) per year leaving a £500k deficit before any players are paid. The low standard of football would mean that TV and sponsorship revenues would dry up, and the business plan would fail.... much like every attempt in history to make socialism work. Sorry. All the business that support Selhurst Park would also fail, and the government would miss out in millions in tax revenue from players, VAT and all other directly and indirectly created employment. Less money would be available to invest in public services. All the clubs privately financed outreach programmes would dry up, there would be no cage football or kicks scheme that have given the chance for Zaha, Eze, Mitchell, AWB, Clyne to become millionaires. Local pubs and shops would go out of business reducing the amenities available for local people. There would be less demand for public transport so investment would halt. I do have to say that I enjoy watching my own team or my mates far more than I enjoy watching Palace, but that doesn't scale up as spectators lose the connection with the players as the size of the crowd increases. A high quality product is need to attract more people to make the business sustainable.

That argument-doesn"t stack up(pardon the punn), as the top job would still be paid x12 of the average salary, so not shelf stacking rates at all, would you turn your nose up at a x12 payrise tomorrow to go shelf stacking?

It's not a matter of the standard. There would be no professional sport (at least without state sponsorship). You couldn't build and maintain the stadiums, that would accommodate the crowds, that would pay the players wages. Their would be no framework to identify the best players from amateur football to tempt people away from their day job into an elite club. The only people that would have the time to play in a nationwide league would be those with the resources to support a life of leisure. Social mobility would be destroyed. Cronyism is far worst in socialist economies.

But the tv money pays for all that, and my point is we would still watch reserve teams and be willing them to win the league, and the tv money would be the same as tv viewing figures would stay same- if all football went same way worldwide

Equality seems to be your aim with everything. I get you! Its not everybody equal mate, i realise different jobs pay different money, some train and study, some dont, and the wages reflect this, thats all good in my book. Its the serious inflation in wages at the top that gets me, why was Johnathon Ross on £7million a year at the beeb? I"m sure he would have done it for 1 million, thats just an example- the fact i saw him while driving up to hampstead one friday night coming towards me with a BMW with number plate ROSS 5 maybe got to me! When i get asked for a few minutes by a charity chugger in Croydon i always say yes, but it wont be worth your while, they say let me try anyway. I let them talk, then after a few minutes say, "rather than take my £3 a week direct debit that youve asked for, go to your ceo and tell them that if they are on the usual 1.5/2 million that they get at top charities, take a 50% pay cut, thats 1 million just today, no need to be out here for a good few years, boss is happy cos they giving to charity they lead, im happy to shop in peace, and chuggers happy as he just raised 1 million for his charity, win, win and win!
