I am not at all politically well informed but I will be interested to see how this plays out in the coming months / years - its not difficult to see how the average Scot could be upset by the current political landscape & wanting more of a say in the countries future - I was genuinely surprised that in their last referendum they didnt vote to split because whenever I hear Scots talking about the UK all they do is complain about how hard done by they are with a healthy chunk of anti English thrown in - thanks to Badger for the original post - honestly if it was up to me I would let the Scots have another referendum, make their own choice & if its leave the UK then so be it, but make it clear to them that if they vote to leave there is no way back later / or put a number on it like not before 20 years.

Oh please, the SNP have been advocating independence since the 1970's even if we had stay in the EU they would still not stop. Besides I don't see why 5m people get to dictate to 62m people.

Though let no one seriously suggest it's independence when they change from sucking on westminister's teat to Brussel's....the cheeky feckers even want to remain on our pound...It's fifty fifty that the EU would even have them. It's a little ironic when you refer to 'little Englanders' when surely nationalists in Scotland are the same....just far smaller. Edited by Stirlingsays (02 Jan 2021 2.48pm)

If the Scots want independence so be it I just worry that the SNP does not have a clear plan for managing the currency and joining the EU and also how they will manage the economy. But it's their choice.
